I ordered a control tactile asm kit which gave me the new board for the controls. All I had to do was use a screwdriver to take out the old board and connect in the new board. I'd never done anything much like this before but it truly only took me a few minutes! Read more

I was told by the person who took my order that I could find an instruction video on you tube . So I went there and follow those instructions. The repair went well although I did have a slight problem with the door latch and the soap dispenser lever. They both fell out as I was trying to install the timer, but I went back to the video and although it didn't show how to replace these two parts I was able to see how they were placed and was able to figure it out from there. I measured the continuity of the defrost heater element and the thermostat and they were both good. This only left the main control board. I ordered all three because it was only a matter of time before either the heating element or thermostat went bad. I only changed out the control board and now have the other parts on hand for an immediate fix in the future. Appliance pros were awesome. I did a little research on the internet. I check to make sure it was getting power with Ohm meter. I took the front panel off to see what I could find. I found 2 dead roaches in the control board box and there was some brown stuff on the control board. I checked the price to replace the part online and local. AppliancePartsPros had the best price and return policy. I figured I had nothing to lose be trying the part out to see if it would work. I installed the new board and it was alive again.... I needed to replace the light bulb in the oven, but forgot to turn off the breaker and unplug the oven (NEVER DO THIS)!!! There was a spark, and my control board was fried. The range top worked fine, so I knew if was the control board (if you no longer see the digital clock and none of the buttons are responsive, it's a pretty good indicator that it's toast).
