Ordered a new screen and filter. While waiting for arrival, removed wax covered dishes. Carefully removed wax filled filter and screen cover. Stuffed paper towels in hole to absorb water and prevent wax from entering pump. Prayed ????wax had not entered pump. With plastic knife removed visible wax. Wiped out with paper towels. 1. After hearing a loud noise on the freezer side of unit about halfway up, I started investigating what it could be? My conclusion was evaporator motor or evaporator fan blade. One of the signs of this issue was a distinct change in sound when I opened the freezer door. I ordered a new motor and blade, not knowing exactly what it was. 2. Replaced the water inlet valve assembly. That reduced the leakage to a smaller amount but did not fully stop the leakage. Replaced the ice maker assembly and that completed the repair. No leakage issues and ice maker is working with no issues. Read more

1. Removed and replaced circulation pump. That didn't end up being the whole problem, although there was debris jammed up in multiple sections of the impeller. Still was satisfied with results. 2. Continued trouble-shooting and discovered a lot of additional debris in the spray arm itself. Score! That resolved all performance issues. 3. In hind sight, I realized the strainer was warped and was allowing the debris to penetrate all of the critical areas. Ordered new strainer and it fit up flush... Read more

I originally ordered the Fan motor from a appliance dealer. I waited for 5 days for it to arrive. In the meantime I scavenge a motor from a junk refrigerator from the dump. It worked while I waited for the motor from the appliance dealer. When I picked it up 5 days later it was the "wrong" part. I was fuming mad. The problem was that the motor coupler & shaft had a tiny bit of rust at their union. With the weight of the ice bin it rusted in the lowest position. This didn't allow the motor coupler to float on the shaft. There is a spring inside the shaft that pushes up on the motor coupler keeping it engaged in the ice bin coupler above. This coupler in turn rotates the auger in the bin to dispense the ice. I removed the motor coupler & shaft, tapped the coupler loose and filed off the rust. This allowed... Read more

SO I FIGURED THAT ALL THE MECHANICAL PARTS OF IT WERE FINE SO THE LOGICAL THING TO DO WAS TO REPLACE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WHICH CONSISTED OF THE THERMOSTAT {THE BRAIN} AND THE CONTROL MODULE WHICH I PURCHASED AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE .
