We noticed several screws were missing from our dryer door hinges which caused the door to sag and the strike bent as the door slammed. We easily removed the door and took it apart, then removed the old strike and installed this new one. We pushed it in place from the inside of the door until it clicked in place, now works great

Removed lid. Removed switch panel. Suspected open circuit in thermal fuse. Tested it with a multimeter first to confirm it had an open circuit. This part is obsolete. Contacted manufacturer and found part supercedes to a different part number Ordered part. (This website is very efficient. The part arrived with the 1.7 day promise time.) new fuse bracket is slightly larger due to supercession. Marked bolt hole locations and drilled new. Installed fuse. Re-assembled dryer in reverse order....

Remove the 3 screws from the back of the top cover
Pull backward about 2 inches and lift the top off
Reach in and disconnect the the door latch wiring
Remove the 2 screws that hold the latch to the door frame
Pop the latch loose from the plastic holder on the right side by pushing it forward
Replace the switch with the new one and repeat each step in reverse

My kids like to push on the handle to get onto the counter causing the latch assembly piece to break after awhile. It’s a simple fix with the hardest part being getting the front panel lined back up to put back on. I ended up not needing the strike piece but got it just in case it had been bent.
