Suspension rod and spring assembly for washing machines. Installs between the tub and cabinet frame. Replace when cracked, broken, or worn to restore stability.
I shopped around a bit - found one retailer that only had 1 shock in stock, another that only stocked the front shocks, etc. There is definitely a difference in the springs between the green colored and white colored shocks! I've torn this washer down before, so I'm fairly familiar with how it's put together. I've seen some of the You-tube videos on replacing this item, and some of the videos show far more disassembly than is required. I only removed the front, top, and controls, and... Read more
The Ice Deflector Spring is an OEM replacement part for GE refrigerators. This spring is a crucial component of the ice dispensing system, specifically in selecting between crushed and whole ice cubes. It is designed to always force the diverter back in a way that the cubes get crushed. When whole cubes are selected, the solenoid pulls the lever against the spring’s tension to shift the configuration, allowing cubes to bypass the crusher blades.
Causes for a malfunctioning Ice Deflector Spring can include wear and tear from regular use, corrosion due to constant exposure to moisture, or mechanical failure that prevents it from effectively reverting the diverter to the crushed ice configuration.
Symptoms of a bad Ice Deflector Spring include:
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
When I took it apart I found that the drive cup was cracked, the helix lock plate hole was reamed out and the ice deflector spring was broken. The biggest problem was the helix had slipped down the shaft and allowed the end of the shaft to bore a hole in the housing which made it a bear to get out. Others have had the same problem. Once I got past that obstacle, it was simple to replace all the parts and it's working like normal again. Very helpful video explaining the repair. Read more
Spring should have GOLD color.
Downloaded the Technical Service Guide and followed the instructions for removal of the Door Closure Mechanism. Items the instructions failed to mention: 1. Although they took the trouble to call for removal of a 3/16" Allen head bolt, they referred to the closure mounting bolts as just "bolts". In fact, they were T-25 bolts. If I didn't have a Torx kit, it would have required a trip to the Orange Big Box Home Center to complete the job. 2. Although the instructions don't describe this step,... Read more

Replacement suspension spring for washer tub assemblies. Installs to dampen vibrations and absorb movement. Order if your spring is broken, worn, or missing.
One of the suspension springs broke cause the drum to wobble violently which in turn tore the seal. Additionally ti allowed the drum to drop onto the discharge hose tearing it. Spring replacement was fairly straightforward but requires strength to attach The boot seal was more complex but doable for handy people I did not discover the torn discharge hose until testing the above repairs Read more
Replaces a broken, damaged, or corroded suspension spring in your washing machine. Supports the tub and absorbs vibrations during wash cycles.
I literally could have done this job with a blindfold on! No kidding. Come on people! My grandmother could have done this one! Since the rubber gasket/skirt in the front of the washer (seals the door) was twisted when the spring failed and the drum failed, I had to remove the wire hoop and spring that held it in place and readjust the skirt. Easy. Them I removed the top of the washer (6 screws). Easy. Immediately you could see the failed spring. I ordered 2 springs so I could replace both... Read more
Wire clamp spring that secures the door boot to the washer's front panel opening. Replace if broken, stretched, or missing to keep the seal properly seated.
Fixing was easy and took approximately 1 hour. I have a Bosch Axxis washing machine and all parts came exactly as ordered and within 2 days of order. I had to take off front and top panel and the door switch. The new wire and spring was part of the order and I had to pay for it. The old parts looked fine to me and I could have reused them but since I had the new ones, I replaced them anyhow. I wish I would have the option to buy the rubber gasket only. Read more

Noise was due to fan rubbing on housing. New fan position set to avoid any rubbing. Read more

Suspension damper shock absorber for front-load washers. Replaces cracked, weak, or broken shocks causing excessive vibration and off-balance loads.
I researched the problem and found that normal wear and tear will cause the Damper shocks and the Suspension spring to fail. I decided to replace all Damper Shocks and the suspension Springs since I had the washer apart already. The Suspension Spring requires a lot of pull to get it in place correctly. I made a hook tool (from political yard sign frame) to hook the old spring to remove and pull the new spring up. It helps to have a second person use leverage (use a short 2x2 board) under the... Reduces drum vibration during spin cycles. Replace if washer shakes excessively or drum moves too much. Mounts between drum and base. Sold individually.
Replaced all 4 shocks, and 2 suspension springs. The overall fix was easy for the shocks which only require a quarter turn with a cresent wrench to replace. The suspension springs are more difficult because the bottom of the washer drum must be supported due to the substantial weight. I used a car jack to support the drum from the bottom and a long bunge wrapped around the main drive pulley. I.would not have been able to do this as a one person without it. While replacing the suspension parts,... Read more

Watched a few of your videos and ordered the springs and a insert, and actually got the parts right. I am not a Appliance repair guy but I am retired and I am pretty handy so I thought what the heck. I watched the videos, a lot of common sense, common tools, and plenty of time. My knuckles are busted up and a little blood, but I got it done. Was actually kind of rewarding. Works like a champ. The Videos, ARE AWESOME. Read more
