Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Oven element burned out   George P. • Northampton , PA • February 06, 2015

First I removed the (3) wire shelves. Removed the bottom cover by removing the (2) screws in the back. This exposed the oven element. Removed the (2) screws holding the mounting bracket on the front of the element then removed the (2) screws on the silver bracket that holds the back of the element. I carefully pulled the element forward which pulls it out of the back of the oven. I pulled slightly on the (2) wires attached to the element in order to get a small amount of slack to remove them... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Gas dryer would run but no heat   Roger M. • Fabius , NY • September 03, 2016

I checked out a few youtube videos on trouble shooting a gas dryer that would not heat, like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8j6fQM3P34. Eliminated all the sensors as possible problems, leaving only the coils or more advanced problems. Took the chance it was one of the coils. I ordered both, replaced them both, put the dryer back together and fortunately that was the problem and it lit up and is running as good as new. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Freezer was not cooling   Brian N. • Huntsville , AL • December 18, 2015

Got the six year old refrigerator from my daughter because of it freezing up but was in good ( Stainless Steel) shape to replace our 21 year old Kitchen Aid. The thermistor had been replaced as a cheap first step but didn't correct the problem as it totally froze over within five days. I decided to tear down again and check the defrost heater element which was found to have an open circuit and hence the replacement part. Thanks to AAP, I ordered the part at the weekend, was shipped on Monday... Read more
