Freezer would not start Thomas C. • Oxford , GA • October 03, 2014
Looked for obvious signs of mal-function, burned wires, etc. I found that the compressor controller(attached to the compressor) had an obvious burned-out spot. Took a chance that was the problem (it was); ordered all new OEM parts, including a new timer and run capacitor (a part that kicks in every time the compressor starts). I received the parts at 1 PM EST; by 1:48 PM I had the freezer working. Easily saved $250.00. A nice aside was that an Internet competitor was asking $53.00 for the same...

Lg refrigerator wound not start Steve S. • Peoria , AZ • May 28, 2016
For an emergency fix I installed a 3 in1 kit disabling the original start cap and wiring in the original run cap to the run winding.
Ordered the proper PTC and overload from Appliance Parts Pros and installed them 2 weeks later.
The original start and run capacitor were good, rewired back to design specs.
The original PTC had pins 1,2 and 3, the replacement had 2,3 and 4.
Only wiring change was to install the red wire from pin 1 on the original PTC to pin 4 on the new PTC.

A loose hose. Adrian H. • Dayton , TX • June 30, 2021
I originally thought it to be my capacitor. But after installing the new one my machine still wouldn't wash, upon further inspection the hose that connects to the water level indicator on the control panel had popped a loose. I reconnected it and my washer is working just fine now. So try and do a complete inspection before spending unnecessary money ($125) like I did.

Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 216954214
This controller is the refrigerator's electronic brain, managing cooling and defrost operations to keep temperatures stable. Replacing a failed board restores reliable compressor, fan, and defrost control when cooling becomes erratic.
- Regulates compressor and evaporator fan operation to maintain set temperatures
- Manages the defrost cycle to prevent frost/ice buildup on the evaporator
- Coordinates inputs from sensors/switches for consistent, efficient cooling
- Common failure symptoms include poor or intermittent cooling, heavy frost on the back wall/evaporator, constant running or short-cycling, or failure to start
What's included: One electronic control board Installation notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing and use ESD precautions when handling electronics
- Access the control location (typically in the control housing or rear compartment) and photograph wiring for reference
- Transfer connectors one at a time to the new board; ensure all plugs are fully seated and harnesses are routed safely
- Reassemble panels, restore power, and verify normal compressor/fan operation

Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 216594300
The Starter is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire refrigerators. This component is crucial for initiating the compressor, which is responsible for cooling the refrigerator. The starter works by providing the necessary electrical power to get the compressor running, ensuring that the refrigerator maintains the correct temperature.
Causes of a bad starter can include electrical malfunctions, wear and tear over time, or damage from power surges. A faulty starter can prevent the compressor from starting, leading to cooling issues.
Symptoms of a bad Starter include:
- The refrigerator not cooling properly
- The compressor not running or frequently cycling on and off
- Unusual clicking or buzzing noises from the compressor area
- The refrigerator being warmer than usual or food spoiling quickly
This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

The Compressor Controller is an OEM part for Frigidaire refrigerators. It is a component responsible for monitoring and regulating the compressor.
The controller allows the compressor to operate efficiently based on temperature inputs from sensors located throughout the refrigerator and freezer compartments. It controls compressor cycling intervals based on sensor readings in order to maintain optimal cooling.
Symptoms of a faulty controller include:
- Fluctuating interior refrigerator temperatures
- Compressor runs continuously without cycling off
- Compressor fails to turn on at all
This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

The run capacitor caught fire. David C. • Hudson , OH • December 22, 2020
After smelling and seeing the smoke I was able to spot the defective parts. Where the run capacitor connects to the control-compressor is where it was burning. So I went to the Appliance Parts Pros website and put in the model number and the diagram of parts come up. I ordered the new parts, the control-compressor, and the run capacitor. Quick shipping. Installed and works ss required.

Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB27X10073
This microwave high-voltage capacitor stores and releases energy in the high-voltage circuit to power the magnetron. Replacing a failed capacitor helps restore proper heating and protects other components in the high-voltage system.
- Works with the transformer and high-voltage diode to supply the magnetron with the required voltage
- Failure may result in the unit running but not heating
- Shorted capacitors can blow the internal fuse or trip a breaker; opens may cause loud humming or buzzing
- Visible swelling or leakage on the capacitor body are common failure signs
What's included: One high-voltage capacitor Install notes:
- Unplug the microwave; capacitors can retain a dangerous charge even when unplugged—discharge using an appropriate, insulated method before servicing
- Note wire positions and terminal orientation; transfer any mounting hardware from the original part
- Mount securely and route wires to avoid pinching

Microwave oven was not heating Scott S. • Charlotte , NC • June 20, 2017
I ordered the capacitor, diode, and magnetron in hopes that I would be able to complete the repair using the less expensive parts. I first removed the oven from the wall and then I removed the metal housing to access the internal parts. I discharged the capacitor using a pair of insulated needle nose pliers. Then I changed out the diode and the capacitor and reassembled the unit and tested it. It still did not heat so I disassembled the unit again and replaced the magnetron this time....

Controller and capacitor that start the compressor in our freezer failed and burned causing burning plastic smell. M. H. • Madison , MS • December 08, 2020
An appliance repairman came to diagnose the issue causing the burning smell and the reason the 17- year old Frigidaire freezer was not cooling. He plugged the freezer back in and it immediately flamed up revealing the failed power overload controller. He tested the controller and the attached capacitor and found they had both failed. He quoted $556 to replace the failed parts to resolve the issue. We initially decided the replace the whole freezer given its age, but due to the China virus,...
