Keypad Parts

Literally took no more than 15 minutes. I unscrewed the back panel of the door, unplugged the old keypad and pealed off the old keypad. I used rubbing alcohol to thoroughly clean the surface where the new keypad would go. Then I slid the new keypad into place and plugged it in. Peal off the adhesive backing and stick the new keypad down, reattach the door panel and you are good to go. Read more

I read that the controller and probe controlled the oven temperature. Also read if replacing controller you should replace the overlay. So I ordered all three parts and installed myself with no problem. I took a photo with my phone prior to unplugging wires so I knew the right way to plug the wires into the new controller. Works like new. Only need a nut driver and screwdriver to repair. Job from star to finish approximately 30 minutes. Read more

I unplugged the oven and then removed the back panel. Next I started started removing cables from the old control board one by one, being careful to plug them into the same place on the new board. There were some slight differences in where some cables were located, but the ports are labeled and you can just match it that way. Then I applied the new faceplate to the new control board. First took apart my range control panel to review the possible failed component based on the flashing error code I was receiving. Found some insects inside the panel. Cleaned out but this did not work..possible short. Checked online with your chat service and they confirmed the two possible parts I may need. Tried to replace the temperature probe first without testing with ohm meter; decided to take a chance. I then ordered the EOC timer/oven control. Now works great and also gained the seconds timer along with minute timer that was not stock with the first timer. Happy man; didn't have to pay the labor to install the parts, the videos gave me the confidence that I could complete the repair. Read more

Initially thinking the thermal fuse was bad, I replaced it without doing my homework. It was actually the control panel. Ordered Wednesday night, in my hands Friday afternoon. Took the 6 hex screws out and simply unplugged a couple of wires off the control panel. Called appliance parts pros and gave them the part number that was embossed on part. They had it in stock and shipped it. I received it within 3 days. Plug the wires back into the part and replaced the 6 screws. 10 minutes top to repair. Highly recommend you doing this. Would have cost hundreds more if a professional had done this. Thanks !! Read more

My Maytag dishwasher model # MDB7749AWM2 has a diagnosis routine where you push 'normal wash' then 'heated dry' three times in quick succession. This made the machine cycle through all the functions. I replaced the panel, for the third time in about 7 years. its a bit sad that A) kenmore/whirlpool cannot make a control panel that can last longer than 5 years of normal household use, and B) that the panel costs $135 . so that means that the $800 kenmore sits at $1070 in price, due to the two repairs that i have made over the last seven years. this control panel is about 10 or 12 switches, with a 15 pin ribbon cable that connects to the control module. i would rate this as about a $50...
