Bad start relay David S. • Knoxville , TN • July 12, 2015
Wake up the morning after a big fourth-of-July cookout to find the refrigerator is running, but not cooling any more. Wife is mad, food is spoiling, and the kitchen is littered with every cooler in the house. No repair person can come by to look at the refrigerator for at least five days. I narrow down the problem to the start relay and I was able to find the exact part on AppliancePartsPros.
With two-day shipping, I get the part fast, and the kit came with everything I need (and then...

Microwave not heating or making loud humming noise? The high-voltage capacitor supplies power to the magnetron. DIY repair in under an hour.
Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
My microwave was working at half power Eric H. • Tonawanda , NY • October 30, 2015
I ordered a new magnetron and a new capacitor and after they arrived I set to work. I took plenty of pictures with my phone to remind me how the components came apart but it was pretty straight forward. Once the new parts were in and everything was reassembled the microwave worked good as new. The repair was less than a third the cost of replacement and no special tools are required. Just be careful to discharge the capacitor. This website is a great resource.

Part Number: 0CZZJB2014G
This capacitor stores and releases electrical energy to support the appliance's circuit during startup and operation. Replacing a weakened capacitor can restore reliable performance and reduce humming, hard starting, or stalling in the affected component.
- Provides a power boost at startup and helps stabilize voltage during operation
- Helps the connected component start promptly and operate smoothly under load
- Common failure signs include humming, slow or no start, or intermittent operation
- Contribute to overheating or a tripped breaker/fuse when the component tries to start
What's included: One capacitor. Install notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker or unplug the appliance. Before handling, safely discharge the old capacitor using a proper resistor-rated tool.
- Photograph or note wire positions; move each lead to the same-labeled terminal on the new capacitor and ensure snug connections.
- Mount the capacitor securely in its bracket; keep terminals covered and clear of metal surfaces.

Loud clicking from the back of my refrigerator Randy W. • Granbury , TX • March 04, 2015
Research question lead to others that had the same issue. Consensus lead to a common repair. Compressor overload switch going bad. After ordering the correct parts, I changed out both the switch and the motor start capacitor just in case. After cleaning the equipment, I then put everything back together. Results were, clicking gone, seems to be quieter operation because of cleaning, more efficient cooling and nerves calmed.

Bad compressor Larry P. • La Center , WA • January 21, 2019
Purchased a replacement COMPRESSOR. The compress or was a replacement for MFG. P/N 5304478809. The compressor was not an exact replacement. There was no port identification so the connections took a lot of time searching the net and then only the suction port was noted. I had to operate the compressor to be sure of the discharge port. The start relay on the original had no power plug as the new one did so had to improvise by cutting the wiring and adding 1/8 push on clips and then sliding on to...

Drum would not rotate intermittently. Robert L. • Cary , NC • May 24, 2019
The Dryer is 10 years old GE Front Load DPVH890JEMG. The drum would intermittently not rotate at the beginning of a cycle and occasionally would rotate but then start and stop throughout the cycle. I did not check error codes, but the windings on the motor were black. So it seemed reasonable that the motor was overheating and sending a signal to the control board to stop. There is one screw under the knob and 9 screws on the front to get inside. I decided to replace the bearings, capacitor,...
