The drying agent lid was broken for a couple years now and our dishes would never dry completely. We finally decided to google for Kenmore parts and this website came up. Couldn't believe how easy it was. All we had to do was find the brand and model number and all the parts showed up on Appliancepartspros.com website. Put in new lid lock. This is my second one in 1 year. Whirlpool suggested I leave it loose so that if somebody did try and force it open, it wouldn't break it. This lid lock has 4 wires and cannot be bypassed. Read more

Start by removing the frame on the sides and bottom of the door. (Do not unscrew the corner screw holding the side frame and bottom together.) First and foremost, don't believe everything you see on Youtube. In order to get to the gas solenoid that feeds the burner you MUST take the entire top off that side of the range. Remove the grates and burner tops. You will see 2x 20mm brass nut, or so it appears, that hold each burner in place on the splash/drip pan. I took the machine screws out of the outer panel for the right side only. Then pull the panel back a bit to release the lips from the front of the machine and had immediate access to the internal assembly that housed mounting nut. We took out all of the parts and wiped them down to remove all of the old grease. The parts were reassembled with the new worm follower gear and added new grease. We had a problem because the new worm follower gear didn't slide down all the way easily, so we had to use a rubber mallet to get it all the way down the planetary shaft. Read more

In order it SHOULD be done: Pried off two white caps covering the screws that attach the flap to the left door, then removed screws. Lifted flap up to remove from door and disconnected cable. Used a thin blade to pry out the inner cover of the flap, then carefully pried out the insulation piece inside. Loosened the screw holding the center cap from the inside and removed cap. There is no good diagram explaining how exactly these fit in. I had to do trial and error. The parts are quite delicate so I actually broke one trying to get it in. I would recommend ordering an extra or two. These need springs tonfit correctly. Luckily I saved the old ones...if you don't have them, it won't work.
