Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice (broken seal) fizzer light out due to ice then auger motor auger coupler and solenoid cube failure   Damon B. • Tumwater , WA • December 19, 2015

This was a two and half year issue as different things failed at different times. I would get one part, then another would fail. Ultimately, I got to a point where what failed, I hadn't been ordered the part yet. The seal on the freezer door took three bathing's before it plumped up and un-creased. The directions on the box it is shipped in said to heat the seal up in hot water then cool it down with tap water. I didn't need to do that. It took a lot of massaging of the seal, but... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You I had an error message on my frigidaire gallery dishwasher er ov   Michael S. • Carteret , NJ • July 26, 2014

I had an appliance repair guy come and he told me it was possibly the vent assembly but if changing it didn't fix the problem it would be the control board next. He felt it was not worth the money to repair because he would have to disconnect everything just to get to the vent on the right rear top of the dishwasher. When i took the DW out thinking i had to buy a new one i saw this part was stuck open and covered in limescale deposits and grime.I ordered the part from appliance pros and payed... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishes weren't getting clean especially on the top rack   Rich S. • Custer Park , IL • January 22, 2023

The hardest part was getting on my knees to do the repair/replacement. It was obvious debris wasn't being filtered out when the water was recirculated. I noticed the accumulator wasn't seating right and found the plastic clips on the backside were bent and worn. The new part came within a day and a half. Everything either unscrewed and snapped together with no tools. You may want to use a flat screwdriver to take the upper arm tube feed loose from its clips but it can be done by hand. Done... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Bottom freezer froze up evap not working   Richard H. • Owasso , OK • October 14, 2019

The repair went well. Never made this type of repair before. Took me around 90 minutes to complete. The worst part was winging it on how to disassemble the bottom drawers. On my Kenmore Elite, it has three freezer compartment sliding trays. The other difficult part for me was removing the clipped in part on the back of the freezer panel. Without knowing what to do it was a little frustrating. after getting to the evaporator unit, removing built-up ice and replacing the unit was fairly easy. The... Read more
