Removed front and top panels of washer, removed old switch assembly. Then mounted and hooked up new switch assembly, put panels back on, turned on power and unit now works fine. Machine was a front load washer, after doing some research found that problem is usually caused by pressure sensor or the spider arm which attaches motor to tub. Read more

Was set to pull the trigger on a new washer since this one was 10+ years old. Broke a $25 lid switch fumbling to get the washer open before I found the appliancepros video library. Once I got things apart the right way I was able to diagnose the problem in 5 minutes. Identified the $10 part needed. Removed front of dryer panel, removed top, and removed drum. Replaced motor and wheel, because the old wheel was rusted on the motor shaft, and could not be removed, so I had to break it off. Replaced motor, and reassembled. Everything works now. I also replace the switch-Pb, because the start button was getting stuck. Read more

I did some research. Found a comment on this website... shake the ptc component it was ratteling... there's a ceramic disc inside the ptc. if broken, this could be the source for the ratteling sound. Sure enough that was happening... one new ptc later an all is good. Ran fridge for 3 days now... no issues It was gamble, took it.. and came out ahead. The capicitor looked as if was OK... it was not buldging... no obvious burnt marks anywhere. Tricky part was getting the 'bale' wire reattached... Read more

8 y/o LG unit was not cooling or freezing. There was a clicking on the back side every 2-3 minutes. Used these 2 issues in a internet search and top 2 cited problems were dirty coils then bad PTC & OLP. Tool off the back panel, compressor was quie hot.
