The Spring Closure is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. This spring aids in the automatic closing of the refrigerator door, ensuring it seals tightly after each use to maintain optimal internal temperatures.
Causes of a bad spring closure can include regular wear and tear, corrosion due to moisture, or accidental damage that compromises its function.
Symptoms of a bad spring closure include:
- The refrigerator door not closing completely or staying ajar
- Difficulty in opening or closing the door smoothly
- Increased energy consumption as cold air escapes
- Frost buildup around the door seal area
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
