Good ole Maryland with its 70 degree weather one day and a snow storm the next! 55 mph winds do not have any sympathy with above-ground transformers in a snows storm. The transformer blew - partially... then kept popping causing multiple surges to our homes AND electronics. Power was restored several hours later, however my fridge was not working. After I checked it out, I could see the burnt parts on the PCB board itself. I grabbed the part number and ordered the replacement PCB. When it... Read more

Covers the lower front of your dishwasher for a finished look. Replace if cracked, broken, missing, or damaged from impact or wear and tear.
Had my kitchen renovated and my contractor lost the access panel for my Whirlpool dishwasher so I had to find a replacement. Found what I was looking for at AppliancePartsPros.com, chatted with a sales customer service rep to make sure it was the correct part. Ordered it, paid for standard shipping, which said 2-3 days, it arrived at my house the next day! The part was also a genuine Whirlpool replacement part, not a generic part that "should" fit, needless to say, it fit perfectly and... Read more

Range won't heat or display is blank? This electronic control board manages temperature and oven functions. DIY-friendly repair, typically 10 minutes.
I found exploded parts view of oven and looked for oven sensor probe and control card parts. I also looked at great videos and read past repair stories. I decided the problem had to be one of the two parts (probe or card) and ordered both. I decided that the probe should be changed first rather than involve a circuit card. I changed the probe and tested the oven and it works again. Read more
Fixes refrigerator not cooling, flashing lights, ice/water dispenser failure, or interior lights not working. Direct replacement takes 10-15 minutes.
First I called the local retailer to ask about a non-warranty service. Minimum $100 charge. Figured I would take a shot at the repair as I had fixed the fridge once before. I used a digital thermometer to verify that the temperature in the ice maker compartment was at the right temperature. I put the ice maker in diagnostic mode to eject the ice that was sitting in the ice tray (turn off and on and then push the ice full lever three times). Ice was successfully ejected. Sometimes the ice... Read more

White vertical mullion that divides French doors on bottom-mount refrigerators. Replace if cracked, broken, rusted, or fasteners are damaged.
Even though the fasteners probably only cost a few cents, I had to buy a new mullion for my fridge. $80! $80 because two nylon fasteners were poorly designed. Replacing the part was easy once I paid the *$80* for the new part. Unscrewed the old mullion. Slipped on the new $80 part. Read more

The range touch pad membrane switch is the flat, flexible panel on the oven or range control face that registers your finger presses and sends commands to the control board to set temperatures, timers, and cooking modes. It sits directly beneath the printed faceplate you see and touch every day. Replace it when certain buttons no longer respond, the oven ignores specific inputs, or keys register presses on their own without being touched.
Dryer won't shut off or advance through cycles? A faulty timer prevents automatic cycle progression. Moderate DIY repair restores timed operation.
Replaced timer, thermostat, a thermal fuse, the pair of thermal cutoff switches and finally the heater element. Hard to say what the final fix was that did the trick -- I am guessing it was the heater element although the old one appeared to have good continuity. All praise goes to the on line chat Pros Erica B and Robin C that took considerable amount of time and effort to help me decipher the problem. For that alone, Appliance Parts Pros will be my go to source for appliance parts for the... Read more
