My mother's GE range was not coming up to full heat (very far from it), and I was hearing a lot of relay-clicking coming from the control board. The heating elements seemed good. VERY simple fix- you do not even have to pull the range out.. I ordered a new cooktop from Appliance parts Pros. The customer sales rep Alphonso was great and walked me through the general process. I could find no explicit instructions for the repair but I muddled my way through. The fix is simple on Kitchenaid/Whirpool slide in ranges. 1. Stove is a GE Adora Model JBP63HH2bb. It took me forever to figure out how the burner was attached to the rails. My glass top was different than any instructions found on the internet for changing out a burner. The burners on this one are held to the bottom of the glass cook top by two rails that cross the bottom of the burner assemblies. In order to get too the burners you must remove 4 Phillips screws to lower the rails and burners from the cooktop. I suggest two people do this because... Read more

Switches needed to be replaced. Make note of where each screw comes from. They were not all the same. To remove the front panel and get to the switches, you have to partially remove the cook top. Removed 5 screws from the back to release the cooktop. Slid the cooktop back far enough to expose screws holding on the front panel. Tested the power to the unit by turning on the cooktop portion and saw that I had power to all of the burners. Turned the selector knob to broil and saw that the top element would heat up. I then turned off the breaker to the unit. I then decided to take out the baking element to do a continuity test. When I touched it, a 1.5 inch section fell out. So, in the process of a kitchen remodel my GC managed to lose *both* of the rear plastic supports for my GE stove! The drawer was totally unsupported without the brackets. I managed to find them on your site and see that they were a new and better design (rear mount with screw vs side mount and no firm mounting). The install was a snap and the brackets work excellent. Replaced the large burner control switches for the ones giving trouble. Since the other two switches had seen as much use as the faulty ones, replaced them too. After putting in new switches, found that one large burner had burned out so replaced it also. Range now cooks as good as new Read more

I visited Appliance Pros website and indicated the problem we were having etc. Found the suspected part (heating element), went on YouTube and found out how to remove the part from the oven and test it with a multi-meter. Keep in mind I have never used a multi-meter before or made repairs to an oven before. The glass was easily replaced. Just a few screws to remove cover then remove bad glass then i dropped in the replacement glass then reinstalled cover. Ithen put the door back in the stove. 15 minute job!!! I was so surprised to see how easy it was!!! Thanks! Part fit perfectly!!! Read more

Unplug range. Open oven door to gain access to the cook top lock-down screws, located under the front edge of the cook top. Tip the cook top up and carefully remove it by pulling forward.
