I have a Jennair jjw9630cas double wall oven, and after a few years I noticed that the light would not go out, first in the bottom oven, and then in the top oven. After doing some research I discovered this was not uncommon, and the fix usually involved replacing the hinges and/or the hinge receptacles. All you need is a nut driver. The end cap is attached to the side of the refrigerator cabinet with two long screws. Once you remove them, you should slide the end cap towards you. It will release the internal clip that holds the front of the end cap. You should then unscrew the metal slider from the end cap. Assembly of the new end cap is the reverse. You should first attach the metal slider to the new end cap. Attaching the new end cap to side of the refrigerator cabinet is a little tricky.... Read more

I bought new gaskets, which were expensive! At least the repair was easy. Pulled out the old ones, pressed in the new ones. Had to redo them because I didn't notice the little flaps that need to be covering the space in the middle, between the doors. So, pulled them off, and turned them around, and pressed them on again. I watched the Appliance Parts Pros repair video and decided to remove the front panel to diagnose the problem. While the repair video is excellent, I could not remove the ice/water dispenser front panel with a putty knife. On my model, 106.56234400, there is no clip that can be released by sliding a putty knife up under the front panel. No instructions are included with either piece, which makes installation take more time and care. Tools needed: Small standard flat blade screwdriver, box knife or other knife with at least a 2" long blade, super glue. Remove the old main crisper frame: 1. Door gasket was easy to remove and reinstall. Original gasket was penetrated while cleaning food stuff from folds in the seal below the frig doors. (Gasket is very fragile so don't try to expand the folds while cleaning. I used my finger and a paper towel but in hindsight should have used a Q-Tip. Also, when installing the new gasket you have to be sure the seam folds over the edge of the door and doesn't get caught underneath. Read more

The rubber seal/gasket was torn on our KitchenAid refrigerator right side door. I purchased the replacement and followed the directions/recommendations of how to prepare the new gasket for installation. When it's removed from the shipping box, it does have wrinkles and preparing it is a must. I set it out on our tile floor and then used a heat gun (low setting) to warm it up and massage it. It took me about 15 minutes, stopping and restarting as I let the rubber come back to it's desired shape.... Read more

I watched the video on replacing the switch on a side freezer where prying out to original switch did not look difficult. I then got on the floor and tried to pry out my switch. Had a terrible time (locking tab or switch body hardened with time?) and mangled the switch terribly and the upper panel of the freezer somewhat, but the switch did come out. We had been quoted $100 for the first hour which included repair if it could be done under the first hour plus parts.
