The Door Hinge Cable Assembly is an OEM replacement part for LG dishwashers. It consists of cables and springs that connect the dishwasher door to the tub, allowing controlled door opening and closing movements. The cable assembly allows for smooth opening and closing of the dishwasher door while providing counterbalancing weight to offset the door weight. It has 2-inch by 3/4-inch plastic pieces and an 8-inch rope section.
Causes of hinge cable failure stem from repeated opening/closing actions gradually fatiguing the cable material combined with potential corrosion developing on springs over years of use cycles.
Symptoms of a damaged hinge cable assembly include:
This genuine LG assembly is also compatible with select Sears/Kenmore dishwasher models as well.
We knew at least one door hinge cable assembly or hinge spring was broken (the door started falling down rapidly and became heavy to close) so we ordered two of each since we had read to go ahead and replace the damaged items on both sides. While we were waiting on the order, the other side must have broken-the door became incredibly heavy and instead of falling open, started crashing down unless it was carefully lowered. We feared it would fall on one of our animals and kill them. We did not... Read more

I ordered a new vario motor and a soap dispenser. I turned off the water and the breaker, disconnected the water line and the power at the front base of the unit, disconnected the drain hose from the garbage dispenser, and pulled out the dishwasher and laid it on a blanket on its face. I unscrewed and removed the plainly visible vario motor on the bottom of the machine and removed the cam from the shaft. I then used a needle nose plier to carefully turn the D-shaft on the new motor to exactly... Read more

I replaced the filter cartridge that is located underneath the lower spray arm. The original filter cartridge had become completely blinded off, the filter media is a very fine mesh nylon fabric and it gets clogged up eventually with hard water scale and other non-soluble materials (including dishwasher detergent). When this filter gets plugged, too little water flows through to the pump to be recirculated during washing. Replacement is relatively easy, except for the awkward position of... Read more

First off I want to say Appliance Part Pros rock! I have used them for purchasing repair items for other appliances in the past, so when my washer started making weird noises this was my go to source. I thought my problem was likely pump motor related as the water wasn't draining and I could hear the sound of the pump trying to work. After reviewing what others who had similar situations found to be the problem I took a gamble and decided to get the drain pump. Some who had that problem... Read more

This was a very simple repair. It was done in about an hour. It involves disconnecting the dishwasher, emptying the water from the inside, taking it out and flipping it over, and replacing the diverter motor. This repair is done on the underside of the dishwasher, nothing to disconnect inside (just remember to remove the baskets). It would be wise to order the motor seal and micro switch that goes with it as they are all cheap parts and easy to swap out during the procedure. Be sure to take... Read more
The Dishwasher Circulation Motor is an OEM part for LG dishwashers. It plays a crucial role in the dishwasher's operation by pumping water through the spray arms during the wash cycle, ensuring that dishes are thoroughly cleaned.

A malfunctioning motor can lead to inefficient cleaning and increased noise levels. Regular maintenance and avoiding overloading the dishwasher can help extend the motor's lifespan.
Symptoms of a bad circulation motor include:
So all of a sudden the dishwasher stops working, "0E error"on the panel. Did some google searches and found that it might be the filter, which I did not know needed to be changed, or worse, the motor. Took the filter off per online tutorial (easy) and mopped up all the stagnant water. Poking around, I find the small rubber check valve that has broken. Had to fish it out with tweezers. Long story short, it was not the motor and I doubt it was the filter. It was this $1.87 rubber drainage... Read more

The dishes were not drying on our 5yr old LG dishwasher. After removing the front door cover, I verified that the blower motor was operational and the vent was not blocked. I removed the diswasher from the cabinet, accessed the heating element from the bottom of the unit, and found the heating element did not have continuity. The part was ordered on a Sunday, and was at my doorstep on Tuesday at 5:00pm. Reasonable price and great service! After installing the new heating element, the... Read more
