Dryer won't heat or flame shuts off after 15 seconds? Gas valve coils control gas flow to the burner. Takes about 30 minutes to replace both coils.
I'm starting with a quick background on my dryer. About 18 months ago the belt on the dryer started slipping and squealing. I had a can of belt dressing spray so I popped the top open and sprayed the belt. It actually worked for about a year before it started squealing again. For the next 6 months I had to spray it more and more often. Then the clothes stopped drying. Obviously, at this point, I had to get off my lazy ass and fix the dryer. Searched my dryer's model number on the internet and... Read more
Complete idler pulley assembly with bracket, roller, and hardware. Replaces worn, squeaking, or damaged pulley components. Maintains belt tension.
I bought the new arm assembly because after a few times of going in through the front of the machine and reaching in the back under the drum I could get to the pulley, so I took it off of the arm and lubed it and then replaced it back inside, put the belt back on and it was good for a week or so , then started squeaking again. So after doing this about 6 times I got the impression that is was the wheel and shaft on the arm were worn out causing the wheel to wobble and wear the arm. I then... Read more
Dryer not heating or won't dry clothes? This igniter kit lights the gas burner. Moderately easy DIY repair with video guide—replaces failed igniters.
I used Fixya as an initial source describing my problem. I got two responses which were very helpful. One that the "coils" were probably the problem. Two, that the problem could be the thermostat or a thermistor in the dryer. I verified that AC was coming from the timing control, that both the two terminal and three terminal coils, the igniter and shut off thermostat all had continuity. I then applied AC directly to the coils: the two terminal coil ""clanked" and I interpreted that as the coil... Read more
Transfers power from motor to drum for tumbling. Replace if dryer won't spin, makes squealing noises, or clothes aren't drying. Verify fit by model.
It was the day of my birthday June 6th when my wife came to me to tell me that the dryer was not working. Immediately I started to look for a new dryer from Best Buy and the rest. Then I said It would be better if I waited for 4th of July at which time I could find a better deal. This is when I decided to take it apart to see what was wrong. Initially, I thought of the belt that could be broken and I rotated the drum by hand and I heard a noise of the belt at times falling on the drum. I was... Read more
Replacement drum support roller for dryers. Mounts on the drum frame to support and guide the drum as it rotates. Replace if cracked, worn, or damaged.
I watched videos on the disassembly of my dryer model, and got the model number hiding on the upper dryer door jamb. After calling AppliancePartsPros.com for help, then ordered parts with the help of APP. It took almost a full day to disassemble the dryer I have, as it is a little more complicated than some models, and I went very slowly on purpose to not lose screws, or break plastic parts. Getting the wiring harness apart was the hardest thing to do, as the screwdriver shown in the video... Read more
Dryer door won't close or stay latched? This door latch kit restores secure closure. Easy 15-minute DIY repair with common tools. Video guide included.
When I looked up the part number there was a handy video that popped up. I watched the video and thought "how easy!" so, I ordered that part and waited. The next day, I thought I better start to take the door off of my dryer (because that's what the video instructed, and I wanted a head start) so as I was going into the garage to get my tools, my son came in with a small package. It was the part. That came, to quote another customer, "Crazy Fast!" All the way from Kentucky to California! ... Read more

Maytag Gas Dryer Model: MGDE300VW1 I had previous experience with repairing my dryers, but this was a first for this model. Instructional videos very helpful. Ordered necessary parts and they were delivered with-in two days. Wow! Squeak found to be coming from idler pulley roller which no longer turned freely . The four other cabinet rollers had signs of wear. Dryer belt had frayed edges and a couple of burn spots in the belt from the motor turning before the drum did. Cleaned up all shafts... Read more
Secures drum support rollers to their shafts in your dryer. Replace if broken, missing, or damaged during roller maintenance to keep drum wheels stable.
I did a little research and found out that the dryer drum rollers needed to be replaced. I decided that since I would be replacing the 4 drum rollers that I should replace the belt and the belt drive pulley. This was a simple project thanks to YouTube. I used one of appliancepartspor videos to st me through the repair. Now I have a dryer that does not squeal like a pig! Read more
Replace your dryer lint filter screen to trap lint and debris for safe, efficient drying. Fits Whirlpool electric dryers. Confirm fit with your model number.
My fiance was involved in a very nasty divorce where a very biased female judge forced him from his home for 14 months before he could take up residency again. He brought me back with him and I witnessed the grotesque damages she intentionally inflicted on his property. His washer and dryer are very expensive and high-end, as is the home and all his contents. One of the many damages she caused was that she had not cleaned the dryer lint filter in 14 months and the lint was a thick carpet which... Read more

Dryer making rattling noise or not heating properly? A cracked blower wheel disrupts airflow. Moderate DIY repair—requires panel removal and wrench work.
I wanted to avoid pulling the drum. Luckily, my blower was easily accessed by pulling the front bottom panel. A couple of sheet metal screws were all I needed to remove the fan housing cover. I knew the fan was on reverse threads, i.e. righty-untighty. As it spins it tightens so no need for a retaining nut. I took off a screw holding on the exhaust tube and wiggled it out. I found the broken teeth inside. With the tube out of the way I was able to slide a crescent wrench in back and place... Read more
Plastic grille that covers and secures the lint screen in your dryer. Replace if cracked, broken, or damaged from regular use or impact.
This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more
