Two weeks ago, my dishwasher would not run. It would beep three times when you pushed the start button: the same signal it gives when the door is open. I used the troubleshooting steps I found at applianceblog.com to do a hard reset. The selector knob and timer quit working on our GE dryer. We noticed the plastic selector knob was cracked inside when we pulled it off. We decided to order a new timer along with the selector knob just in case the new knob didn't solve the problem. I first felt along each heating element (bake and broil) hoping to find a rough or blistered place on them. But they were both smooth with no irregular places.
