The Rear Sleeve Bearing is an OEM part for Whirlpool mixers. This component provides critical support for the mixer's motor shaft, allowing it to rotate smoothly and efficiently. By reducing friction and wear, the rear sleeve bearing ensures that the mixer operates quietly and reliably, extending the lifespan of the motor and other moving parts.
You should replace the rear sleeve bearing if it becomes worn or damaged. Causes of a bad rear sleeve bearing can include regular wear and tear from frequent use, lack of lubrication, or the accumulation of debris. Over time, these factors can lead to increased friction, noise, and potential motor damage.
Symptoms of a bad rear sleeve bearing include:
- Unusual noises such as squeaking or grinding during mixer operation
- The mixer shaft not rotating smoothly or becoming difficult to turn
- Increased vibration or wobbling of the mixer attachment
- Excessive wear or damage to the motor shaft
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Stripped worm gear this is the fourth time in 6 years my wife uses this 6 quart mixer a lot! Philip R. • Wichita , KS • March 06, 2015
This time I replaced the front and rear bearings and thrust bearing and all the gears. The hardest part is thoroughly cleaning out all the old grease. After re-greasing and assembly mixer ran like new. I wish a more robust worm gear was available.
A snap ring plier is a must for this job.
