The Dispenser Switch is an OEM replacement part for GE refrigerators. This switch is crucial for the functionality of the water and ice dispenser, as it activates the dispensing mechanism when the user presses the lever or button. The switch ensures that the refrigerator dispenses water or ice on demand, providing convenience and ease of use.
Over time, the dispenser switch can wear out or become damaged due to frequent use, exposure to moisture, or electrical issues. This can result in the switch failing to activate the dispenser properly, impacting the performance of the refrigerator's dispensing system.
Symptoms of a bad dispenser switch include:
- The water or ice dispenser not responding when the lever or button is pressed
- Intermittent or inconsistent dispensing of water or ice
- The dispenser working only occasionally or requiring excessive pressure to activate
- No audible click or feedback when pressing the dispenser lever or button
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
