David R Portland , OR November 22, 2018 Appliance: Maytag 30" Modular Gas Downdraft Range JDS9865BDP22 Front panel stopped working and so did the oven bake time My 15 year old son and I examined the new parts and made a plan for how we were going to take the front off of the oven. Turns out it was fairly simple. We removed the knobs, the knob shrouds, two philip screws on the side of the head and about 6, 6mm hex sheet screws. Voila! It came apart. We carefully looked at how the old parts were assembled and simply reversed the assembly with the new parts. Since one of our parts was the entire front head, it went together quickly and it was a perfect fit. We plugged it in after assembly and all functions are restored! We saved Thanksgiving! Jenn S Amesbury , MA February 27, 2016 The control panel on our jenn air dual fuel range was not working a few of the numbers and the enter button didn't work for about a year and then on day none of the buttons worked Checked out the problem on Appliance Parts Pros, found the part and replaced it. The fix is basically unscrewing regular Philips head screws and some with a hex top and then disconnecting a flat "cable" that goes from the buttons to the actual electronic controls. It takes a bit of effort to line everything up exactly to put the screws back in, so working with someone else can be helpful. My advice, take pictures on your camera of each step so that you can refer to it when putting it back together! Mark O Truckee Ca. 06160 , CA April 14, 2014 Touch pad failure All in all it was fairly simple. Removal of the panel was straight forward. Removal of all screws, and knobs was the simple part. wiggling out the panel had some surprises with more wiring attached then I thought, but by taking it slow and looking at it, the removal of the main circuit board involved only 4 screws and none of the wiring had to be removed. Install was just a reversal of removal. It is a DIY job saving a couple of hundred bucks. Robert R Chicago , IL October 12, 2015 Appliance: Maytag 30" Modular Gas Downdraft Range JDS9865BDP22 Keypad stopped working could not use oven correctly Researched the problem on-line. Determined that the oven needed a new touchpad panel. Found the best price at Appliance Parts Pros and ordered one on-line. Ordered on a Sunday and received the part on Tuesday. The part was identical to the original. unscrewed many nuts and a few screws. Un-hooked the old panel and replaced withthe new one. Reversed the process to install the new panel. It was a bit trickygetting underneath the sheet metal of the top portion of the panel but I eventually made it. Works great now. Wife is happy. If wife is happy then everyone is happy! Read More...
