Maytag Wall Oven Touch Pad

So, this is a common problem, and the fourth time I have done this for someone in by neighborhood. Takes about 10 minutes, and requires very little skill. You simply unscrew the oven from it's mount points, pull it out a little bit, remove the four sheet metal screws holding the panel in place, unplug electronics, and plug the new panel in. After an over spill on the range one day, half the buttons on our control panel no longer worked. Well the bake button worked so we kept using that and only using the oven on 350 degrees for almost a year. I ordered the control panel from Appliance Parts Pros and installed it. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to unhook the 2 strips on the inside from the oven. All you need to do is lift up the back side of the clips and the strips will come right out. Install the new strips in the clips and then push down. Very simple if you are familiar with this type of connection. Read more

I replaced the old control panel with a new one. I also changed out the door seal to help prevent the control panel from going bad a second time. It was the heat from the oven getting to the keypad on the control panel that caused it to go bad. Read more

After doing much research online, I found out that the Touchpad on the JennAir downdraft gas range JGS9900BDS is very prone to "breaking." All my neighbors who has this model has reported that the touchpad stopped responding after a few years. Replacing was fairly simple. 1. Turn off the electricity to the range at the breaker 2. This is an oven with keypad directly above oven door. And needed to replace the keypad and housing. Pretty easy fix. first turn oven off at breaker and unplug unit. Second pull off top burner knobs and remove 2 screws that are hidden behind each knob. 4th remove housing screws (1 screw on each side of housing and 4 screws on bottom of housing). 5th pull out housing and disconnect all wire connectors from mother board. Originally, I was told by Appliance Parts technician that the control board needed replacing. I ordered a new board and replaced it. No change. Called another AP technician and he said it is the panel control board which is the keypad that needed replacing and promptly provided me a return authorization number to return the control board. I replaced the panel control board (key pad) and all is working once again. I probably saved $600 by doing it myself. Read more
