The Whirlpool orifice holder is an OEM replacement part responsible for regulating the flow of gas to the surface burners of the cooktop. This part ensures the safe delivery of gas to the burner, allowing for controlled ignition and heat generation. The orifice holder is located beneath the burner assembly, and it connects to the gas supply line. It contains the orifice, which is a small opening that determines the gas flow rate to the burner.
Causes of a bad holder-orifice can include wear and tear over time, exposure to high temperatures, or accidental damage during maintenance or cleaning. When the holder-orifice becomes compromised, it can lead to issues with gas flow and burner efficiency, impacting the overall performance of the oven.
Symptoms of a bad Holder-Orifice include:
- Uneven heating or burner performance
- Weak or inconsistent flame
- Gas smell near the burner area
- The burner not igniting properly
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

We replaced both front orifice holders. Very easy to bend and break. If it has a deep bend in it, It will slow down the gas flow to the burner. if you have a low gas flow your burner will burn low So check your small silver gas lines and if you smell gas check your lines
