We purchased the mounting stem repair kit,,tub bearing kit, 3 new bolt/washers that hold the outer tub in place and the spanner wrench. Cleaned everything... I've read several reports about how "easy and quick" it was to replace the motor. All I can say is, "nonsense". It wasn't as easy as others reported, but for someone with decent tool skills, it was a very doable home repair - just be prepared to spend some time on it. First, the motor needs to be accessed from the FRONT of the dryer. This means removing the two cover panels to access the interior. Here's the story. All my appliances except the dryer broke. Yeah. talk about bad luck. First I tried to fix the refrigerator. Replaced both motherboard and inverter board. Now it wakes up but the compressor does not kick in. Need another part. The washer, well I have to pull out the sink to get enough room to pull out the washer to fix it. This was some repair! My SG1000 stackable is over 30 years old and was purchased second hand. I've replaced many parts in the dryer section, but besides a water inlet, this was my first repair to the washer. All of a sudden it started making a terrible noise and was not agitating the clothes.
