A carburetor gasket is a thin rubber material that provides a seal between two parts. Its primary purpose is to prevent fuel and air leaks. This gasket is installed between the air cleaner and the carburetor. Over time, it can crack and tear due to heat and fuel exposure. When this happens, the carburetor may produce the wrong combustible mixture for the engine. In return, the engine may experience rough idling and flooding. A carburetor gasket replacement is necessary. MTD makes this carburetor gasket replacement. It is manufactured to fit string trimmer, leaf blower and tiller made by MTD, Bolens, Troy-Bilt, and Craftsman. This brand-new carburetor gasket is sold individually. A fully assembled carburetor and O-ring are sold separately.

A flange lock nut, also known as a flange lock or a lock nut, is created to be used in various types of lawn and garden equipment. This flange lock nut holds other parts in place and, when properly threaded, will resist loosening. Over time, a flange lock nut may begin to weaken and may become loose or break. If it appears to be broken or weak, a replacement is required. Flange locks can be adjusted and uninstalled after use. When replacement is required, you may need a socket set, screwdriver, hacksaw, and butane torch. The socket wrench will loosen the bolt it is connected to, while the torch is used to heat the lock nut. A socket wrench may remove the nut, but sometimes cutting it with a hacksaw is required. These O rings are replacement parts intended for use in a number of gasoline-powered lawn trimmers. The O rings serve as gaskets and are placed at the entry and exit points in the carburetors where gasoline and air are mixed and the expansion powers the trimmer. Though constructed of durable material, periodically the flow of the air/fuel mix or the rush of expanding air will cause damage to occur to the O rings so they become less resilient and the carburetor functions less efficiently. In these cases, users often decide to replace not just the element of the carburetor but the O rings as well. Users may notice problems with the carburetor when they cannot get an adequate adjustment, allowing the trimmer to function smoothly. They may also have trouble getting the trimmers to start at all or run without smoking. To replace the O rings, remove the air filter cover and carburetor. Once the carburetor has been cleaned, and the gasket and filter replaced, add a fresh mix of 40:1 fuel. The trimmer should start immediately. Installing a brand-new air filter keeps the engine in top running condition. When the machine is in operation, the vacuumed air goes through the air filter. Any dirt or dust is left in the filter media. Over time, the filter will become dirty and can no longer provide the same filtering efficiency as before. If left ignored, the tiny particles could clog the engine and the carburetor. You may experience misfires and no engine start-up. An air filter replacement is cheap and easy to do. Simply remove the air cleaner cover and take out the dirty filter. Insert the new filter into the housing. This replacement will take less than 5 minutes. A screwdriver will be needed. The MTD 951-10298 Air Cleaner Kit is a genuine air filter from MTD. Each kit comes with one paper filter and one foam filter. The foam filter can be cleaned with water and detergent. The paper filter, however, needs replacement at least once a year. This air filter kit is compatible with Cub Cadet, PowerMore, and Troy-Bilt. It can also work with other garden equipment like wheel string trimmers, chipper-shredder vacuums, and log splitters.
