The water dispenser stopped working on my Sears Kenmore (Whirlpool) side-by-side refrigerator and after much research on the web I purchased the parts that commonly failed for this condition. I should have first taken the dispenser assembly apart but I didn't--it looked a little too intimidating to do twice. As it turns out, what actually broke was the plastic assembly that holds the water actuator switch in place so the dispenser lever could not strike it. I was able to secure it in place...
