The grommet was old and very caked with old dishwasher scum. So water was leaking through where the soap door latch goes into the door. I replaced the rubber grommet (and the plastic latch that came with the kit, even though the old one was probably fine). Fit perfectly and looked just like the old one. This part came next day. super fast. open door . remove screws on inside facing edge of door. this seperates door front and back halves. unplug electric from dispenser then remove 6 screws holding it to the inside of door. remove dispenser and install new one in reverse order. took 20 to 30 minutes on a small economy size GE dishwasher Read more

Took door off, saw that dispenser linkage was ok, I could open and close by hand, so figured the wax motor or the wiring to it were most likely the problem. I took off the wax motor ( actuator) and ran 120 volts to it via jumper wires, and it did not move at all, so figured good chance that was the problem. This happened after a repair man came out and replaced the timer. Not my doing landlord had a service contract. Once inspected I found when the timer was swapped he did not swap the cam over. Ordered the correct parts and repaired myself. Hard to find good help anymore. Read more

I wrote down the model and serial # of the unit. I went on line to Appliance Parts Pros, and entered the data. Up popped a schematic with the part clearly numbered. I looked up the number, and ordered the part. Although the standard shipping said it would take 2 days, FedEx delivered the part the following day! • Will not dispense detergent

Removing the door panel was easy -- remove 6 Torx screws, and the panel falls off. Next you need to remove an electrical plug and 2 individual wires from the old dispenser. The plug came right off, but the wires were not easy to access, and they fought me more than I expected. With some pliers and wiggling, they eventually let go and came free. The dispenser is held in place with 6 Phillips screws through 2 removable metal brackets, and those came out easily. The toughest part of the job... Read more
