How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP5972147 / 00631200 Drain Pump

The drain pump fixed the problem. 

I watched a video on replacing the part. Ofcouse as a novice , the pump was easy to replace but reconnecting the water line took some doing. I learned to reset the machine from the Bosch site I am very proud of my success. Plus everything is working. 

The repair went really well. Thanks for saving me some money by trying the drain pump first instead of the control board. 

Replace drain pump. The instructional video was not 100% accurate, but good enough to help make the job easier. Our model# 500 dishwasher has a non-removable bottom tray, making access to the pump a bit more difficult. In addition, the instructional video does not speak to leveling the dishwasher after it is put back into place, and this is a critical step. Fortunately I had installed the dishwasher initially, so I was aware of this requirement. 

Our Bosch dishwasher displayed "E:25" which is error 25, or washer not draining. I watched a video on the Appliance Parts Pros web site showing just how to replace the drain pump and it was very straightforward. I ordered the part and it arrived in a couple of days. Ironically, once I opened up the sump in the wash chamber and removed the existing pump from below, I found a few tiny pieces of glass in the works. I suspect that they were the culprit, but a new drain pump couldn't hurt, so I snapped the new one in. I ran the washer to test before completely reinstalling and all was good. I bought this dishwasher in a scratch and dent auction. When I got it home I noticed it was missing parts. Specifically the drain pump. Not having owned this brand before it took some time to figure out what exactly was missing! When I received the part it looked right. Thankfully it installed quickly and when I get the missing power cord I'll see if it will fire up! I didn't order the power cord at the same time because I thought I could wire it directly. Beware, this dishwasher plug is on the main power distribution board, you need the cord! Bosch Dishwasher 800 series. 

I replaced the drain pump.

Replaced drain pump and check valve. 

Pulled the dishwasher out and removed the old pump, inspected the old pump and it looked to be in good shape. I installed the new pump after looking at all drain lines. After seeing that the pump was ok I pulled the drain lines from under the kitchen sink and there was the problem, just about every drain pipe under the sink was full of gunk from whatever, cleaned all those pipe lines and the dishwasher is working great again, no more loud noise from the pump, the restricted line had to be causing the problem
