How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3754330 / WB24X10130 Light Switch

In addition to all the awesome instructions from others below, a couple of pointers - 1. Use rubbing alcohol to wipe off the grease (I had no paint issues you might want to check in an inconspicuous corner first) 2. The connectors are stab type, so you need to use something skinny and rigid (I used one of those precision screw drivers) to push and hold in and wiggle the wire out of the old switch. 3. stab the wires into the new switch 

Turn off power off at main circuit remove nobs remove hex nuts remove the cover exposing the switches remove the wires (one at a time by inserting a small screwdriver in the wire slot of the old switch . MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF) , compare the number on the back of the old switch to the new switch when installing the wires 

Installed a new replacement switch from"Appliance Parts Pros" Works like new again !!! 

I Replaced the switch. To access the switch, remove metal box by removing two screws (bottom right and left of the box). There are four wire connection points on the switch which are labeled as L, 1, 2, and 3. Prior to disconnecting the wires from the switch, write down what connection point each wire is connected to, so you can reconnect the wires in the same position on the new switch. There are only three wires and they are different colors. To disconnect the wires from the switch, gently insert a small thin screw driver in the connection slot and pull the wires out. I learned this from one of the stories posted by one of your previous customers. To reconnect the wires on the new switch, just push the wires in their respective slots. 

Remove light shield, take out two screws, pull off three wires, and replace switch reverse order..... I would order parts from you in the future for sure !!! 

When started repair was unsure how to remove. First you will need to cut the power to the appliance either by unplugging or on the breaker, which is what I did. Start by removing the switch covers and the bolt on front of the hood and then move on to remove the 2 screws on the underside of the hood. Pay close attention to the wire configuration so that you place them correctly on new switch. Once all this is done and the switch is changed. Turn the power back on and test.
