How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005965 / WP2180226 Control Bracket

I watched the trouble shooting video provided and determined where the problem was located. I ordered the damaged part and installed as instructed by the professional video that was offered. The water works fine now. It was fast and easy. 

I followed your video guides. 

After researching online, I first assumed that the auger motor was dead, so I replaced that -- at which point I discovered that this was not the issue. Then I actually took the five minutes to check the dispenser assembly itself, and found that this bracket assembly was broken in multiple spots. After that, it was just a matter of simple replacement. 

I replaced the existing bracket, which was broken, with the new one. I was guided by a YouTube video, so I was expecting to remove a bracket attached by screws. That turned out not to be the case. All I had to do was remove the front panel to the refrigerator with a putty knife, remove the switches, disconnect the lamp, spread some clips, and the broken bracket came right out. I snapped in the new one, attached the switches in their proper places, re-attached the lamp, replace the front panel and I was in business. 

Replaced plastic mounting board that held the micro switches for the ice & water dispenser. The plastic pins holding the microswitch had broken due to time and use. Once I got the front panel removed (a bit tricky) the rest of the repair was easy. 

Got from you. New parts and it is perfect. 

Watched the helpful video provided by appliance parts pros, ordered the correct parts and completed the job in 10 minutes. We now have our water working again. Thanks for all of your help 

Replaced the bracket and it fixed the problem. The video on changing this made it very simple. 

Following some great YouTube videos, I discovered that the pins on the bracket that held the microswitches were broken - most likely from people depressing the ice dispenser paddle too hard. The bracket was easy to replace, using the instructions in the videos. 

Google searched the same issue, most led to the inlet valve but a video from your website showed it could also be the plate that holds the switches. Thanks to seeing how to take the faceplate off (if you didn't know how most people said they cracked the faceplate) it revealed the pins and clip that hold the switches in place had broken off. A simple $12 plate has my family happy once again . They go to the gym every day so filling their water bottles up is a must. Thanks, appliance parts pros for stocking an older appliance part. I know where to go now if I ever need an appliance part.
