How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013694 / WP9704230 Blender Drive Coupler

Kitchenaid wanted $75 to send back to fix. I watched the video, ordered the part for under $12, received the next day & replaced myself. 

It only took about 5 min's to replace. The only problem was I had to put a screw driver through the vent holes to stop the motor from turning so I could break the old coupling free. 

The video on the Appliance Parts Pros website was easy to follow and gave great instructions on how to remove the old part and install the new past. Plus we ordered the part online and it arrived 2 days later. Excellent service and saved us from buying a new blender. Thanks!

Followed instructions and fixed the coupler - easy and replaced seal. It works like new. 

I saw the video on this site and it looked really simple so I ordered the part. When it came I reviewed the video, did as instructed and voila! Fixed! 

Watched the video on how to remove the old one - really helpful. I ended up removing the entire rubber cover so I could position the screw driver in one of the holes in the aluminum base before whacking it loose. Once I did that the old one loosened up and was easy to screw off. Installing the new one is so simple you don't really need instructions - except it's good to remember these are opposite threaded. 

Ordered a new part from Appliance Parts Pro. and repaired the blender 

Searched the internet for info and found Appliance Parts Pros to have best price for needed part, along with instructions about how to complete repair. Ordered part, used screwdriver and hammer to remove the broken coupling. Received the new coupling, a day earlier than expected, and installed it to resolve the problem.
