• Door won't close

My dryer door would not stay shut because the door strike was stuck in the door catch. I was afraid that when I pulled the strike out, it would damage the catch, so I ordered the door strike and door catch. I got the damaged door strike out with needle nosed pliers in about 15 seconds. The door catch was in perfect condition so I didn't need to use the one I ordered. So then I proceeded to install the new door strike. I googled the error code and symptoms my oven was exhibiting to determine the solution and which parts to order. I needed a new control panel and chose also to replace the overlay that shows on the front of the stove. I could have reused the old one because I turned out to be able to remove it without damaging it. I just kept it in case I damage the new one in the future. Replaced the regulator with part #AP5802175. Watched the video when purchasing, and it was spot on. Would have taken me about 15-20 minutes if I had access to a vise, to remove one of the fittings. Was able to get it out using two wrenches, but it was not without a bit of elbow grease. The new part went in easily. Turned on valve on regulator, plugged in the power, turned on the gas valve, done. Everything worked fine. Easy job for anyone with just a few tools. Read more

The glue behind the keypad loosened and the keypad slowly began slipping down out of place over several months. Finally, because of the movement, it warped which resulted in one of the keys being stuck. That is what gave the F12 error code. The fix was easy. I removed the control panel and then peeled off the keypad. The keypad itself then has two layers (1), the flexible circuit panel, and (2) the outward facing display. Removed the bottom tin work in the oven and removed the burner tube. Tried to remove the igniter bracket but the screws were too tight for the Phillips head and couldn't get vice grips to clamp on the head, so I bent the bracket enough to remove and replace the igniter. Then reassembled. I give AppliancePros.com a 5 star rating. Replaced the element. 1st- Turn off the power to the appliance. The cook top is held on with two screws - access the screws by opening the oven door. Cooktop is hinged, so just pull up near oven door and hold in place with, say, a three foot long stick. The elements are held in place by bracket attached to the cooktop. Removing was easy. Pull out the ends of the seal, the ends aren't locked in. Then, pull up on each retaining clip. Each clip is held in with spring tension. Reinstallation was easy too. Start on one end, Twist frayed end into cone-like shape and insert into one of the holes for the seal. Push in with a skewer/screwdriver. Insert first clip into the first hole.
