Removing cabinet panels to access burner was the major challenge since every one seems to be different. This one, two screws at back allowed top to raise and be removed, Two more screws at front and two cables disconnected removed control panel. The door panel was not quite as obvious, The two screws at top sides and two at very bottom edge were removed. Then by trial, I removed screws around door edge until panel was loose. Frigidaire Gallery gas dryer from maybe 15 years ago. Based on the fact the the smell was only in the dryer, I concluded it must be the gas valve failing to completely seal when closed. After looking at the insides again, I suppose it is possible that it was a connection near the burner, but that stuff had remained untouched for 10 years so I still think I made a good assumption.
