Replaced igniter under each burner knob. Used needle nose pliers to remove the electrical connections (2) of the igniter then slipped it off the gas valve shaft. Replaced with new igniter (click in place) and replaced electrical connectors. Took about 15 minutes to complete. Read more

This replacement part looks nothing like the original because the original is two parts, the replacement is one part. The original has a switch with 3 wires coming out of it that go into a "block" screwed to the bottom tray. And this "block" has 2 wires that come out of it going to the fan. With the replacement, the block is eliminated and the 2 wires go directly to the switch. Easy install. Read more
This is a spark ignition switch used on gas ranges and cooktops to detect burner position and activate the igniter when the knob is turned. It sends a signal to the spark module to generate the electric spark that lights the gas burner. Replace this switch if a burner fails to spark when turned on, sparks continuously even after the flame is lit, or if the igniter clicks but won't stop.
I replaced the burner switches, since we had been having trouble with specific burners igniting unless another burner was tuned on. SSVD48600Pon finally popped the control panel loose from the top of the stove. Took some manipulation as the stove is more than 20 yrs. old With a screwdriver finally popped the switch loose.
