What you will need: * replacement parts * small and regular Phillips screwdrivers * small wrench * soapy water in a spray bottle or leak detection spray Take apart the top of the stove control unit 1) turn off the gas to the stove, in my case I cannot get to the shutoff valve easily so I ended up turning off the electricity to the stove at the fuse box as that forces an emergency shutdown of the gas supply internally of the stove. 2) remove all 5 knobs, the grates at the top and open the oven... I went on line and found several appliance web sites promising to be able to get the parts to fix it. One website actually showed a video of how to fix it. It was a good video which showed everything involved and then easily showed me the parts list of the elements involved and how to fix it. I went further and actually ordered the element at about 1 or 2 AM. Read more

We ordered a new ignitor and it came in two days just as promised. The only problem that we experienced was that the leads on the new ignitor were to short. We were able to find enough slack on the oven end to make it work. The oven is once again working great. The video was a little off on what need to be done to disconnect the ignitor. We actually had to flip the oven over to get to the bottom. We could not access the connector through the back. Read more

I replaced the old control panel with a new one. I also changed out the door seal to help prevent the control panel from going bad a second time. It was the heat from the oven getting to the keypad on the control panel that caused it to go bad. Read more

I bought the replacement drip bowl - large and the rubber gasket which was delivered quickly. Specific steps: 1)turn off electricity to cook top 2) remove burner grate, burner cap and collar 3) remove two Philips head screws near center hole 4)lift out drip bowl and reach under it to remove electric plug to igniter. Note how old gasket fits on drip bowl. 5)take out retaining clip on igniter and remove igniter 6)clean up surface where new drip bowl will contact cooktop 7)stretch new rubber... Read more
