The delivery of the element was superfast, less than 24 hrs. Unplug the Stove from the receptical! Took a phippips screwdriver and took out the 2 screws holding it, and tilted it upwards a bit and pulled the element out about 3 inches an unhooked the wires. Very easy fix. Turned of power at breaker. Removed oven door by lowering two "keepers" on the hinges for the oven door and sliding the door out of the oven. Removed the trim plate at bottom of oven by pushing it up.. Removed 2 screws that mount to the frame of the cabinet at the bottom that the trim plate hangs from. This is a large burner bowl replacement that can work with many models of stoves and ranges. Another term for these bowls is drip pan. My GE stovetop sold as a Sears Kenmore included a parts list and exploded assembly diagram, but while my stovetop had one size of black burner bowl, the diagram and list included three sizes, and the part numbers listed turned out to be for white bowls. Controls gas flow to individual cooktop burners on gas ranges. Replace if valve stem is bent, broken, or stuck, preventing smooth knob operation or shutoff.
What you will need: * replacement parts * small and regular Phillips screwdrivers * small wrench * soapy water in a spray bottle or leak detection spray Take apart the top of the stove control unit 1) turn off the gas to the stove, in my case I cannot get to the shutoff valve easily so I ended up turning off the electricity to the stove at the fuse box as that forces an emergency shutdown of the gas supply internally of the stove. 2) remove all 5 knobs, the grates at the top and open the oven...
