Took door off, saw that dispenser linkage was ok, I could open and close by hand, so figured the wax motor or the wiring to it were most likely the problem. I took off the wax motor ( actuator) and ran 120 volts to it via jumper wires, and it did not move at all, so figured good chance that was the problem. The gasket is fairly straightforward: it's just a press-fit right in to the channel. What you need to know is that you need to stretch the gasket material lengthwise prior to installation; if you don't it will be too short. The problem is that the bottom seal is not included with this gasket kit. The bottom seal begins to loosen at the corners and then begins to allow water past the door. I did a little research on the internet. I check to make sure it was getting power with Ohm meter. I took the front panel off to see what I could find. I found 2 dead roaches in the control board box and there was some brown stuff on the control board. I checked the price to replace the part online and local. I replaced the panel, for the third time in about 7 years. its a bit sad that A) kenmore/whirlpool cannot make a control panel that can last longer than 5 years of normal household use, and B) that the panel costs $135 . so that means that the $800 kenmore sits at $1070 in price, due to the two repairs that i have made over the last seven years. this control panel is about 10 or 12 switches, with a 15 pin ribbon cable that connects to the control module. i would rate this as about a $50...
