Oven not heating or baking unevenly? The bake element generates heat for baking. Most DIYers replace it in 10-15 minutes with a screwdriver.
I ordered the part I was sure I needed through the Appliance Pro website. I was surprised the part arrived in just two days. FIRST UNPLUG THE OVEN.. I removed the baking racks then two screws holding the plate over the element. I then removed three screws holding the old element in place, then gently wiggle/pull the element free from the electrical connections in the back of the oven. (Note: You cannot see the connections at this point. You'll need to remove the terminal block cover on the... Read more
Oven won't heat or bakes unevenly? The bake element likely failed. Located at oven bottom, this part restores proper baking heat. 10-minute DIY fix.
The first thing I did was call appliance pros. The tec told me it was a good chance it was the thermostat. He told how to test it with my ohm meter and what range it should be in. I pulled it out and tested it, which was out of the limits he told me it should be in. So I ordered the part. When it arrived in two days, I installed it. The oven now works perfect. Thank you so much. I was just about to go spend $800 on a new oven, and instead fixed it for $75. Awesome website. It was... Read more
Oven not heating or slow to preheat? The bake element is likely burned out. This bottom heating coil replacement is a simple DIY fix in minutes.
My wife was using the oven and she shouted "emergency, oven fire" as i was half asleep in the reclining chair (I will be 86 in Oct.) As I dashed, well not quite, into the kitchen mentioning the fire extinguisher, she exclaimed "no, electrical fire, throw the circuit breaker"....which I very promptly did and the fire was no more; just a lot of bad odor. Removing the severed 32 year old bake oven element was somewhat delayed due to corrosion of the element mounting screws and electrical... Read more

Broiler not heating or only outer ring works? This broil element provides high heat for even browning. Easy DIY fix—disconnect power and test continuity.
DISCONNECT CIRCUIT BREAKER!!!. Remove oven door. Remove two screws that attach the element to the back of the oven, and two screws that secure element to the oven roof, then remove element. Had to be careful that the four wires don't slip into the back of the oven (difficult) to keep them from falling back as they are very short. Remove and replace element. I should have also detached the temp probe as it gets in the way and is easily broken off its flimsy mounting plate. The hardest part is... Read more

Personally I have experience working with electricity and knowing if I bought the part required this would be an easy fix. I got my model number and contacted Appliance Parts Pros and placed my order for the new elements, terminal blocks, and for appearance purposes 4 new Drip Pans. Excellent service and quick shipping. I ordered my parts on Sunday and received them on Tuesday. This was a simple repair that only required a screwdriver to remove the old terminal block from the range hood, wire... Read more

Oven not reaching temperature or taking too long to preheat? A failed bake element is often the cause. Moderate DIY repair, 1-2 hours with rear access.
I determined the hidden bake element below the oven cavity was not working, because the bottom of the oven was cold during normal use. If you have a built-in microwave + oven combination (mine is KitchenAid Model No. KEMS308SSS05), this is a difficult repair. The engineer who designed this oven should be invited to succeed elsewhere. It is impossible to access the bake element from the inside of the oven, so the How To video associated with this part will not help you. I had to remove the... Read more

Found a real cool Youtube video by AppliancePartsPro.com. I watched it and learned how easy it was to unhook and replace the part with proper care and precautions. It even included tips on critical steps so the wires won't slip back inside the hole and save you from hours of possible mistake. Then I ordered the part. It came the day after, then I replaced the part, meaning, I DID THE WORK! (My wife was so impressed- lol) Easy as pie... but we made and had a much nicer roast the day after.... Read more
Oven not heating or heating slowly? Your bake element likely failed. Located at the bottom of the oven cavity, this part restores even baking. Easy DIY fix.
First I removed the (3) wire shelves. Removed the bottom cover by removing the (2) screws in the back. This exposed the oven element. Removed the (2) screws holding the mounting bracket on the front of the element then removed the (2) screws on the silver bracket that holds the back of the element. I carefully pulled the element forward which pulls it out of the back of the oven. I pulled slightly on the (2) wires attached to the element in order to get a small amount of slack to remove them...
