This is the socket that holds the drum light bulb inside the dryer. It provides the electrical connection to power the interior light that illuminates the drum when the door is opened. Replace this socket if the dryer drum light does not turn on even with a new bulb, or if the socket appears melted, cracked, or has damaged electrical contacts.
First I tried changing the light bulb. Unfortunately that didn't do the trick. The next thought was the socket itself. I ordered the part from APP, which as usual, was very easy and arrived in 2 days. I removed the back cover from the dryer and easily replaced the socket.
