1. I unplugged the washer from outlet 2. I turned off the hot and cold water taps going to the washer (both just in case) 3. Draped a towel over back edge of washer and under where hoses coming from water outlets attach to back of washer (to catch any loose water out of the hose or screw nozzle leading to valve assembly, then unscrew (by hand) the cold water hose from back of washer (leave hot water hose alone as not needed). 4. This was a super-easy repair. You have to line up the spring so that it sits on the bumps inside the magnet holder and the door, then you have to line up the tabs on the magnet holder so they will slide into the slots on the door. Then you just push it in. Repair took less than a minute. Read more

Because many of the screws and fasteners are of multiple sizes, I would recommend laying them out in a muffin tray or on a paper with labels for where they go back. 2. Our 10-year-old LG WM2487HWMA front load washer had gradually developed multiple problems. If you have an older model WM8000H_A you MUST pay attention to the type of door gasket (boot seal) that it uses. Every video I could find for replacing the seal on the WM8000HWA involved a different product than what was required for our specific washer. I wound up getting the wrong one by ordering it without help and had to exchange it - after I had the machine taken apart. The LG Model LG Washer model WM2487HRMA ISSUE: Washing Machine was filling very slowly. Overnight it would fill about 1 or 2 gallons. I would clear the tub by pushing a) Power b) set spin to None c) push Start. That would empty the tub. REPAIR SOLUTION: That did not solve the problem. I removed the top cover and found the left main suspension spring broken. Appliance Part Pros had the new springs (2 I replaced both) at my door in 26 hours. Excellent service from this company. After disassembling the drum from the chassis of the machine, it was very easy to replace the springs. i do wish however that I had purchased a higher quality machine.
