Benjamin M Lynchburg , VA February 12, 2016 Appliance: LG Washer WM2010CW The valve assembly started leaking so i ended up needing to replace it before too much water got on the inside parts or on the floor! 1. I unplugged the washer from outlet 2. I turned off the hot and cold water taps going to the washer (both just in case) 3. Draped a towel over back edge of washer and under where hoses coming from water outlets attach to back of washer (to catch any loose water out of the hose or screw nozzle leading to valve assembly, then unscrew (by hand) the cold water hose from back of washer (leave hot water hose alone as not needed). 4. Unscrew valve assembly from washer by two screws on back top of washer (no need to mess with hot water assembly at all as it is separate) 5. Marked the electrical plugs going into top of valve assembly on inside to make sure I got order correct on reattaching to new device, then unplugged them (all 3). 6. Used pliers to squeeze off hose clamps and move them down the hose about 5 inches (still on hose for convenience and not losing them!) 7. Carefully but with little force twisted a single hose off of old valve assembly and attach it to new valve assembly on equivalent spot of old valve assembly (make sure hose goes all the way to main plastic base of assembly (NOT halfway attached on the spigot), the. Used pliers to move hose clamp back up to within 2 cm of end of hose (should hold hose on plastic spigot securely). 8. Repeat for other two hoses ( deal with hoses individually to not confuse placement) 9. Reattach electrical connectors to appropriate plugs on top of valve assembly then move the valve assembly through hole of washer again and reattach two screws on back in appropriate holes 10. Reattach cold water hose by hand then turn on water supplies again 11. Plug the washer back into outlet *** top of washer comes off after washer unplugged from outlet and put back on before plunged back into outlet*** Read More... 75 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
Josh S Wilmington , NC October 16, 2024 Appliance: LG Washer WM3770HVA/00 Grinding sound from failed drain pump whistling noise when filling broken brush when trying to clean out removable filter at bottom left Purchased both cold / hot water inlet valves, as well as new drain pump motor. Since I knew I was going to be doing a few different things and wanted to make sure all the clamps went back on well on the fittings, AND had to retrieve a cheap broken utility brush that went through the filter trap and into the main hose that connects to the basket for dischage, i knew I was going to have to dissasemble a few areas. I followed the long method and removed the front frame of the washer. I have done this once before to replace seal. It took me about 3 hours to get that seal back on the first time. The second time it took 1 try and about 3-5 minutes when finally reassembling everything. The pump was easy enough to replace, but i have the mini washer pedestal from LG , and the though of 16 screws ( 4 each side) as well as the weight. without a helper, made it apparent real quick i was taking the long route to replace the pump vs going in from the bottom of the unit. So my order of repair was pull the broken brush head out , remove the pump plate. I took both the drain pump on left and the other pump on the right apart to clean and inspect. There was no resistance on the pump on the left. The unit was 8 years old so i thought while i had it apart this was best steps. While I wasn't sure which inlet valve was making the machine sound like screams from space mountain, i was sure I didnt want it in my life anymore. At 8 years age, It could have been either the hot or the cold. I just decided to replace both, and both are probably still good. After running a clean cycle all the vibrations had gone away, and the fill sounded normal. However with a clean cycle it still remained with that screeching whistling sound. As it turns out its my hot water valve on the wall ( requiring a plumber to replace) I was able to mitigate by tamping off the pressure a bit on the valve just a hair below half open. The washer sounds better than it ever has. Anyways. These three parts fixed me up hopefully for a few more years of life out of these laundry units. Code OE was the only code experienced. I am not extremely mechanically inclined, but i was very careful and took a lot of photos of where the wires came from and where they went back. The most difficult part was replacing the cold water valve. with 3 small clamps and water lines. I went with APP because the parts were available for next day delivery. giving me a weekend project on Thursday evening. I am slow and from start to finish the job took me about 10 hours. I cannot imaging going up from the bottom for that duration of time and not fearing the unit falling on my head for some stupid reason. In from the front, nice and easy and slow. The disadvantage is you cannot see the leaks this way if present. Thankfully , that was not an issue, as you have to re-attach the front facia and seal to even test the unit and latch the door. Other repairs that APP has assisted me with is a drain pump circulation pump for a dishwasher and a broken smooth top for a range. They are always great and almost always have the parts you need in stock for delivery! Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers

Eric B Plano , TX April 15, 2017 Appliance: LG Washer WM2277HW 0e code was present on my lg washing machine this turned out to be a failed drain pump i also had a very slow water fill during wash cycles I first checked for blockage in the drain hose. There was some significant buildup but not a complete blockage of the hose. I did remove the drain hoses and connector manifold and thoroughly cleaned these parts. I then ordered the drain pump and both hot and cold inlet valves from appliancepartspro.com. I received the parts the next day and installed them. Washer is back up and running normally with a fast water fill and fast drain! I also replaced the hot/cold washer hoses which connect the washer to the hookups. After disassembling the old inlet valves, I found the rubber manifolds (inside the solenoid) to be completely deteriorated. While I had no water leak, I do feel like the inlet valves were at the end of their useful life and the deterioration was causing my slow water fills. The wash cycle times are much faster than before which is a result of the normal fill and drain times I now have again. This washer is 11 years old (WM2277HW).
