Ice cube dispenser/flap was broken not actuating the ice bucket motor. Peter P. • Sonoma , CA • July 24, 2023
Ice Door Kit, Control Bracket, and Ice Dispenser Guide were purchased. I followed two videos on replacing the parts. The Control Bracket WP2180226 / AP6005965, was straight forward and I discovered a snapped pin on the old bracket causing an electric switch to be out of place... that repair was easy.
When it came to the hinges of the ice chute, I discovered the snap-in, on right side, of the hinge was cracked... this is why the pin escaped. This cracked part is molded into the entire...

The Alumilastic Cement is an OEM part for Whirlpool appliances, typically used in refrigerators and freezers. It serves as a thermal mastic compound, designed to provide a secure and heat-conductive bond between various components, such as evaporator coils and the interior walls of the appliance.
Causes of a bad alumilastic cement can include drying out, cracking, or losing its adhesive properties over time. This can occur due to age, exposure to temperature fluctuations, or improper application. When the cement fails, it can lead to poor thermal conductivity and decreased cooling efficiency.
Symptoms of a bad alumilastic cement include:
- Reduced cooling performance
- Unusual noises from the cooling system
- Components becoming loose or detaching
- Increased energy consumption
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Evaporate motor went out on my Whirlpool refrigerator freezing cold at the bottom but warm on top Toan N. • Anaheim , CA • June 24, 2018
When I first found out that the evaporator fan doesn't work, I went to a local home appliances store to buy one , cost me $40 , real easy to replace it and it solves the main problem , but this evaporator motor was making some loud noise every now and then , especially when we open the door too often. Then I ordered another one from Repair Clinic , this one is even worst , making a loud hum noise constantly, I had to return it. My wife really wants to buy another refrigerator but I don't...

Ice maker would not fill with water automatically if i poured water into it it would make the cubes but when it was time to refill i was getting nothing Daniel D. • Lawrenceville , GA • November 23, 2014
After watching a video on the AppliancePartsPros.com site, I decided that it was the Valve-Intake that had to be the issue. So I simply unplugged everything as suggested, and replaced the part. I plugged everything back in, made sure the water dispenser in the front door worked, and then turned on the ice maker. Within 5 minutes, the ice maker went through it's rotation, and this time it filled the ice trace. Yay!
