Ice maker auger quit turning. Torance H. • Citrus Spgs , FL • March 02, 2020
Remove and replaced the auger motor, shaft seal, and the chute seal. No problem. However, the causing failure was to broken wire on the bottom of the freezer door. Loom and blue wire were cut, due to being pinched. I had current to start with and the auger worked three times then quit. That's when I really had to start searching . Fun.

Ice maker stopped working Mary K. • Chesapeake Beach , MD • August 06, 2018
Bought new optic control boards, both the emitter and the receiver. The repair process was so simple. The KitchenAid repair tech came out to diagnose our issue. He was only going to come back and install a new emitter. They wanted a lot of money to do the repair. They were going to charge us $257 just for the part (emitter board). We bought both boards for $300 from AppliancePartsPros. We decided to replace both boards, because if one went bad the other might not be far behind.

The cam door bushing was worn out Albert G. • Naugatuck , WV • July 18, 2015
Easy fix. Took two screws out of top door hinge. Lifted door off of bottom hinge. Laid door on blanket on floor. One cam part went on the hinge that was on the fridge, snapped in place. One cam part went on bottom of door, one screw to replace. Replaced door on bottom hinge then put top hinge back on. Job done.

The crisper face plate separated from the basket due to a failure of the basket Nick M. • Azusa , CA • October 26, 2018
I purchased replacement parts to completely replace basket, face plate, and rollers. I received exactly what I ordered. The only problem I had was removing the part(s) from the shipping box. I thought the part came assembled (as rollers had been installed onto the basket), but the face plate had not been snapped into place. When I removed everything from the shipping box as one piece, the face plate fell off, hit the tile floor, and cracked. Bummer. Since the original face plate was in good...

Ice maker not making ice Paul M. • Lodi , CA • August 18, 2015
Water line coming out of inlet valve to ice maker was cracked. Removed the paperboard cover from the bottom of the back of the fridge, then unplugged the water line going from the inlet valve to the ice maker. Wasn't sure this new tube was going to work, because the original had an elbow on it. Fit just fine. Removed grille from front and disconnected other end of ice maker water line. Attached new line and now I have ice!
