Ice cube dispenser/flap was broken not actuating the ice bucket motor. Peter P. • Sonoma , CA • July 24, 2023
Ice Door Kit, Control Bracket, and Ice Dispenser Guide were purchased. I followed two videos on replacing the parts. The Control Bracket WP2180226 / AP6005965, was straight forward and I discovered a snapped pin on the old bracket causing an electric switch to be out of place... that repair was easy.
When it came to the hinges of the ice chute, I discovered the snap-in, on right side, of the hinge was cracked... this is why the pin escaped. This cracked part is molded into the entire...

I unplugged the unit, removed the back cardboard panel and replaced the compressor starting device, and also the capacitor. Plugged the unit back in and the compressor came on and immediately began cooling. I was so happy (proud of myself) for diagnosing the problem and fixing the unit. I can't take all the credit though... Thank You Appliance Parts Pros for your great website with all the helpful tips and suggestions. Whirlpool refrigerator stopped cooling clicks and buzzes were heard every couple of minutes Chris P. • Houston , TX • May 03, 2014
Googled the symptoms and realized it was probably the Start Relay. To check, I unplugged the refrigerator, took off the back panel, and pulled the old start relay off. I shook it and it rattled, like something was broken inside. That was the sign that it did indeed need to be replaced. Looked up the part on www.appliancepartpros.com and found it. Ordered it and it was here two days later. Replaced the old one and the refrigerator started cooling again. Very easy fix that saved me calling a...

The ice dispenser lever was cracked and did no longer trigger the dispensing of the ice Andrea M. • Honolulu , HI • March 01, 2015
I replaced the Ice Dispenser Lever. Since the replacement part is only available in white and my fridge is bone, I replaced also the Water Dispenser Lever, so it looks much better.
I followed the instructions in the video, which were very useful and very well done. My problem was that the refrigerator is a KitchenAid built-in, while the instructions were for a Whirlpool, so the removal of the faceplate was quite different from what was shown in the video and more difficult. Also there were some...

My refrigerator compressor starting 2 or 3 times each time it was called to run due to a weak overload switch Charles W. • Mancelona , MI • January 07, 2016
I replaced the start relay and overload switch with the single part Overload/Relay part number AP3119971. Now it operates like new. Had no problem replacing part, just followed instructions. I was very pleased at a single part replacement for both, relay and overload. I was expecting just to replace the overload. This is much, mush better. It's been running for over a week with no problems,
