Ice Mold
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WPW10190929

The Ice Mold is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. This component forms the ice cubes in the icemaker, shaping the water into cubes as it freezes. The ice mold is crucial for the efficient production of ice, ensuring that each cube is properly formed and easily released into the ice bucket.

You should replace the ice mold if it shows signs of wear or damage. Causes of a bad ice mold can include mineral buildup from hard water, physical damage to the mold surface, or malfunctioning heating elements that prevent ice from releasing properly.

Symptoms of a bad Ice Mold include:

  • Ice cubes not forming correctly or being irregular in shape
  • Ice cubes sticking to the mold and not dispensing
  • The icemaker not producing ice at all
  • Leaks around the icemaker area

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

This part fixes the following symptoms
  • Leaking

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice forming in the ice cube bin   Bill J. • Scottsdale , AZ • December 13, 2014

I have a Whirlpool Side-by-side Model ED22PWXBW01. A year ago, the ice cubes started freezing together in the rear of the ice bin for no apparent reason. Although the problem started off small, it gradually grew much worse, and finally I could see water dripping out of the ice mold and into the bin during the fill cycle. Re-levelling the refrig didn’t help, nor did adjusting the cube size / fill level. With guidance from the video, I removed the icemaker from the wall of the freezer. The... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice maker quit and frig was warmer then usual   Marc A. • Santa Cruz , CA • November 11, 2018

I noticed Ice maker Quit for the third time in 15 years so I decided to buy another Ice maker, I installed it and NO ice still?? Well I went after the other problem thinking if it does not get cold enough maybe ice maker won’t work. I ordered Defrost Switch, Heater and Evaporator Fan just to be safe. I replaced all three, the fan was noisy, the heater OHM’d ok but I replaced it as did the defrost switch, I put it back together, the Freezer got to 0 degrees and the frig got to 38 degrees so I... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Crisper drawer supports broken   Donna D. • Tamarac , FL • October 08, 2014

My Whirlpool fridge is 12 yrs old. The crisper drawer supports finally gave up. I googled the make and model number for repair parts and AppliancePartsPros.com came up. I was actually surprised that I found the support peg and stud. I watched the video on their site on how to replace them, saw that it was easy and ordered the parts that afternoon. To my utter amazement the parts came via FedEx the following afternoon! I have to admit if I didn't watch the video I wouldn't have known how... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice dispenser did not work   Magic P. • Riverdale , GA • January 22, 2015

I first thought it was the auger in the ice container so I changed it and it was not the problem. I then talked to ApplianceParts customer service that it might be the yoke on the motor that turned the auger or even the motor itself even though it worked. I ordered the parts, the yoke was supposed to be able to be changed by itself but mind would not come off the motor shaft so I had to cut it off just to remove it from the unit so I had to change the motor anyway because of this. So I advise... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice maker not dispensing   Debra G. • Albuquerque , NM • April 13, 2015

Although the solenoid I purchased did not fix the problem, nor the "mother electronic board", or the motor, my experience with Appliance Parts Pros has been excellent. Extremely easy to look-up parts for my model refrigerator. Best part is their video instruction that gives you step-by-step hands-on how to remove and install. I would highly recommend these folks. Replaced the ice maker. The kit came with everything I needed to replace the ice maker. Parts that did not come with the kit were re-used from the old one. My Whirlpool refrig/freezer is an older model so the wiring harness that came with the kit was different from my existing. One good suggestion from the video was to run the screw in and out of the wheel bracket before final mounting. The video also suggested putting something under the corner to eliminate tipping. The...
