I have a Whirlpool Side-by-side Model ED22PWXBW01. A year ago, the ice cubes started freezing together in the rear of the ice bin for no apparent reason. Although the problem started off small, it gradually grew much worse, and finally I could see water dripping out of the ice mold and into the bin during the fill cycle. I noticed Ice maker Quit for the third time in 15 years so I decided to buy another Ice maker, I installed it and NO ice still?? Well I went after the other problem thinking if it does not get cold enough maybe ice maker won’t work. I ordered Defrost Switch, Heater and Evaporator Fan just to be safe. • Ice maker won't dispense ice

I first thought it was the auger in the ice container so I changed it and it was not the problem. I then talked to ApplianceParts customer service that it might be the yoke on the motor that turned the auger or even the motor itself even though it worked. I ordered the parts, the yoke was supposed to be able to be changed by itself but mind would not come off the motor shaft so I had to cut it off just to remove it from the unit so I had to change the motor anyway because of this. Although the solenoid I purchased did not fix the problem, nor the "mother electronic board", or the motor, my experience with Appliance Parts Pros has been excellent. The auger would not turn the dispenser because the screw threads were stripped. I could not re-thread it so I had to replace the entire motor assembly. The video your company provided was extremely helpful not only for fixing the problem but to give me the confidence to do it myself. Removed the handle with two screws on the inside front and pulled out the custom wood panel. Pulled the compactor out from under cabinet. Tipped it over on back of unit, supporting it with a little foot stool. Unscrewed two lower screws at bottom of unit holding black trim panel (that held wood panel in place) and lower black rubber flap. Replaced the ice maker. The kit came with everything I needed to replace the ice maker. Parts that did not come with the kit were re-used from the old one. My Whirlpool refrig/freezer is an older model so the wiring harness that came with the kit was different from my existing. So instead of disconnecting the ice maker wiring harness from the freezer, I had to disconnect the harness at the ice maker. That was a b..... I also found a video on the internet that clearly showed the procedure. The actual repairs took 15 minutes or less.
