This motor stator is the stationary windings for a direct-drive washer motor. Working with the rotor, it creates the magnetic field that turns the basket. Replacing a failed stator restores consistent wash and spin performance. What it does
- Provides the fixed windings for the direct-drive motor
- Works with the rotor to spin and tumble the basket
- Failure can cause no spin/tumble, intermittent movement, or loud humming
- May lead to motor/speed-related error codes and cycle shutdowns
What's included
Install notes
- Disconnect power before servicing; allow moving parts to stop
- Access is typically from the rear; remove the rotor to expose the stator
- Handle the rotor's strong magnets carefully and keep metal objects clear
- Route and seat the wiring exactly as original; tighten mounting bolts evenly

F 51 error code Video P. • Johnson Creek , WI • March 05, 2017
Once you tilt the washer and prop it against something it's a pretty straight forward and easy fix. If you watch the instructional "How-to" video beforehand, the repair should take between 30 to 60 minutes. It all depends on your skill level and if everything goes smoothly. Make sure you have all the proper tools, grease and blue thread lock at the ready to help you move this repair along faster.
This repair was in conjunction with replacing the motor position sensor. I didn't know I needed a...

My kenmore washer model 11029828801 was agitating during the fill cycle and the tub would only partially fill also at the end of the spin cycle rinse water was spraying in resoaking the clothes Jay S. • Hammond , IN • February 07, 2017
I read the FAQ section of Appliance Pros parts web site. I found out I needed to replace the temperature control switch, WPW10248240, to correct my problem. This switch also controls the tub filling water level based on air pressure via the attached vinyl tubing. I ordered the switch and the tubing, WP353255, in case mine was no longer any good, and I also ordered the retaining clips for the control cabinet, (2) of WP8312709, because they can be damaged when accessing the controls. My new...

Replaced the drain pump and the drain hose (since I was replacing the drain pump). The new drain pump seems to pump out the water more forcefully than the one replaced.
Have not received a LD code during the wash cycle since the replacement was installed.

My washing machine made a terrible high pitched squealing noise when adding water (fill rinse etc). Ann E. • Edwardsville , IL • March 29, 2017
I replaced the water inlet valve assembly. We have relatively hard water and I assumed that over the years those inlet valves were clogged with calcium deposits which in turn led to the high pitched squealing as water was added to the machine.
The hardest part of the entire job was releasing the top of the washer to disconnect the hoses from the valve assembly. Everything else was relatively easy. We simply followed the online video. My washer no longer screams and I'm thrilled!

Bad tub seal wiped out bearings. Allen A. • New Milford , PA • February 25, 2024
A buddy of mine gave me a washer and said if you can fix it you can have it, It doesn't spin. I tried running a spin cycle and found that it did try to spin but was very noisy. I disassembled the washing machine and found that the tub seal had gone out and took out the bearings with it so I ordered a new tub and seal kit and while I waited for that I proceeded to disassemble the rest of the washing machine and clean everything so when the new parts arrived it was ready and waiting. Leaking seal, loud bearings Donald P. • Collinsville , IL • September 09, 2019
Ordered the shaft, bearing, seal kit. I didn’t order the tool to press the bearings in. If you’re not experienced in changing bearings, I suggest you order it. Straight forward repair. The top of my Whirlpool Cabrio comes off differently than the video showed, everything else was spot on. The adhesive is tacky...wear surgical gloves, trust me.
One more thing, get a 1-1/4 “ short box wrench for taking off the shaft bit.

Knock noise when agitating Todd M. • Malone , WI • May 02, 2015
I listen very carefully and looked up on line many items that may cause it. One thing, along with the knock was a ting like noise. Like tapping on the sheet metal of the machine. I rocked the drum back and forth and could only find a similar nose. Rotating had nothing. At that point I figured it had to do something with the suspension rods. The rod toward the back right side would ever so slightly stick (ball) when rocking the tub then the ball would have a chatter like movement. I lubed up...
