I had to remove my dryer so I could install a new floor. The dryer would not fit through the doorway with the power cord attached. Since the power cord was fastened to the back using 3 phillip headed screws, I gently backed them out with a phillip headed screwdriver. However, two of the 3 screws gave me extreme trouble. Our 19 year old Whirlpool dryer quit heating. After checking the thermal fuse, I found the ignitor electrically open. I bought an ignitor at a local store as there was a national holiday the next day and I did not want the dryer inoperative waiting several days for shipping.
