Replaced ignitor with a new one. Should have tested old one before installing. New one did not work either. Traced problem back to defective thermo fuse by testing with a multimeter and found circuit open. Bought a new fuse and replaced. Ignitor cycling as designed now. Apparently fuse failed due to excessive heat. I will also replaced dryer vent hose and and clean out vent line. Read more

One day my wife went to bake something and the bake/broil buttons as well as #3, #9, and oven light ceased to work. Local repair guy came by and wanted to charge $500 to fix it....YEAH RIGHT! I took it apart and cleaned and lubricated the rear support rollers and the belt pulley roller. I think the squealing was coming from the pulley roller. I then replaced the rear felt as it was badly deteriorated. The dryer now runs much more smoothly and quietly. Read more

I undid the top with a putty knife, took out two screws and took off the front. I replaced the drum rollers and put the new belt on the drum, looped the belt on the idler and then onto the motor pulley. I also put on two new top hold down clips as the old ones broke because they were plastic, the new ones were metal. I took off the back panel and replaced the heating element. Followed the video- opened the front of the dryer and removed the drum. It was evident that one of the wheels had worn and wasn't turning freely like the other one. The video showed how to remove the roller. Very simple process and now the dryer works just fine. Read more

I looked inside and saw the teeth were worn off the "dogs" so I purchased the Cam Agitator repair kit and a new bolt. Getting the old bolt out was the hardest part since it was worn and rusted. I ended up having to buy a set of socket extensions and a set of stripped bolt sockets so $45 in tools and it took me an hour to get the old bolt out but putting everything back together was a breeze. Our 19 year old Whirlpool dryer quit heating. After checking the thermal fuse, I found the ignitor electrically open. The cylinder roller that supports the dryer drum was worn and needed to be replaced. I ordered the idler pulley shaft and associated parts as well since I wasn't sure if these were worn too. Watching the video on the web site gave me a good idea what was involved and where to look. It wasn't my exact model and make but provided sufficient information on what to look for.
