I looked inside and saw the teeth were worn off the "dogs" so I purchased the Cam Agitator repair kit and a new bolt. Getting the old bolt out was the hardest part since it was worn and rusted. I ended up having to buy a set of socket extensions and a set of stripped bolt sockets so $45 in tools and it took me an hour to get the old bolt out but putting everything back together was a breeze. My Kenmore washer had three problems and thanks to AppliancePartsPros.com videos I was able to repair all three. The washer coupler was defective so I replaced it. This topok about 30 minutes. The washer lid switch was defective. This took about an hour. Finally, the motor was defective. I was able to disconnect the motor from the transmission and test the motor by leaving the wiring connected and run a wash cycle. The motor was dead.
