I emptied door shelves and used plastic sheet to close off refrigerator. The repair was done with refrigerator running. I removed door and changed riser cam and shim. Then replaced door. It took maybe 45 minutes from start to finish. If I did the job again it would be completed in 30 minutes or less. The videos are informative. Thank You Read more

Ok so my mom called GE and a service man came out. He said no good. The refrigerator was to old to be fixed. You will have to buy a new one .. ok so with that said he collected his $100 dollars service fee !!! I slid the refer out and started tinkering with it. Swapped it out for new tube. Take 5 minutes and zero effort. The drain tube will clog with mold. You can clean it out but the tube will clog again despite's you best efforts as the tube wall provide a great habitat. Ordered new tubes to facilitate swap-outs. Old tubes can be cleaned but will recolonize quickly. Read more
